I don't know why Odrama doesn't send the Army Corp. of Engineers to solve the problem and then just bill B.P. for it.
I saw that film of using ordinary hay to sop up the oil.....how come they aren't trying that?

President Barack Obama is the biggest recipient of BP political action committee donations of any political candidate in the last 20 years, according to the Center for Responsive Politics and an analysis published Wednesday by Politico.
Obama's take from the company whose drilling site is leaking tens of thousands of gallons of day into the Gulf of Mexico: $77,051. To view a list of all of BP's donations in the 2008 election cycle, click here.
BP Human Resources chief Dawn Bobbit gave Obama $4,600 in the last election cycle. BP America Health and Safety Advisor Alfred Apodaca contributed $500.

Coast Guard: Tar balls found off Key West, Fla.

Mon May 17, 11:24 pm ET
KEY WEST, Fla. – The U.S. Coast Guard says 20 tar balls have been found off Key West, Fla., but the agency stopped short of saying whether they came from a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Some 5 million gallons of crude has spewed into the Gulf and tar balls have been washing ashore in several states along the coast.
Scientists are worried that oil is getting caught in a major ocean current that could carry it through the Florida Keys and up the East Coast.
The Coast Guard says the Florida Park Service found the tar balls on Monday during a shoreline survey. The balls were 3-to-8 inches in diameter.
Coast Guard Lt. Anna K. Dixon said no one at the station in Key West was qualified to determine where the tar balls originated. They have been sent to a lab for analysis.

These tar balls may have come from another source, some oil seeps out of the earth's crust every day.

Mt thought is that BP, should get the majority of the blame and criticism for the spill. Whenever we have situations like this one, the company at fault needs to take all of the responsibility and costs associated with the whole process. The Federal Gov, should only be there to provide assistance and help the best it can with resources available to them. Conservatives are for having companies succeed and fail as the free market dictates, with little to no help or resistance from government.
Opponents of off shore drilling will always have the upper hand if companies as BP, show to the world that they're incapable of getting a hold on the oil spill from the onset and the inability of the Federal Gov to have the layers of management properly perform their jobs.

Rand Paul: Obama's criticism of BP 'un-American'

By MICHELE SALCEDO, Associated Press Writer Michele Salcedo, Associated Press Writer – 1 hr 11 mins ago

WASHINGTON – Kentucky's Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul criticized President Barack Obama's handling of the Gulf oil spill Friday as putting "his boot heel on the throat of BP" and "really un-American."

Paul's defense of the oil company came during an interview in which he tried to explain his controversial take on civil rights law, an issue that has overtaken his campaign since his victory in Tuesday's GOP primary.
