Today, the Federal District court struck down the GOP's voter suppression law in Florida. In many states, the GOP is attempting to supress the vote with lame laws and tricks.

In two more cases of VOTER SUPPRESSION by republican states, both TEXAS and NORTH CAROLINA have their voter ID laws overturned and thrown out.

IN Texas, the voter ID law was overturned because the 5th circuit court of appeals said the law violated the voter rights act and was discriminatory.

In North Carolina, the voter ID law was overturned because the 4th circuit court of appeals said the law violated the voter rights act and was discriminatory.

These are big rulings against the republican party which has tried to BLOCK minority voters in many states.

2 more states coming up, and those laws as well will be overturned.

When you say VOTER SUPPRESSION are you referring to voter ID laws?

Because the Democrats required ID's to get into the DNC convention, so surely they agree with Voter ID laws.

No matter how you try to spin it, the GOP voter suppression laws are being tossed out just before this election and the GOP wont have its way, preventing old people and minorities from voting.

Old people that don't have ID's?

There are no Americans that fit that description.

Minorities without ID are are called illegal aliens and should not be voting in our elections.

    Newfie and Brownstuff,

what is it about you two that makes you guys think you know more than the US COURT OF APPEALS..in different jurisdictions? Why do you think you know more about the law and what is legal than the courts?

Let's try one more time to explain this to you...

When a person REGISTERS to vote, they must prove their citizenship at THAT TIME. Once they are qualified to VOTE, they are placed onto the voter registration rolls and assigned a polling place.

There is no FURTHER need to identify themselves at the polls, beyond establishing they are the person on the voter rolls. They can use a utility bill, a license, an id card of any form or birth certificate and these NEW laws were designed to make it near impossible for some minorities and old people to vote.

Like this case of an old white woman in texas who was not allowed to vote because of the texas voter id law..

92-year-old Texas woman denied photo ID to vote: “Not to be able to vote breaks my heart”

She wasnt black, she wasnt a minority, and she wasnt illegal. But the LAW's real intention did what it was designed to do, LIMIT VOTERS.

Every single appellate court AGREES with ME and not YOU two.

WISCONSINs voter ID laws were also TOSSED out on Friday by the courts...

Parts of Wisconsin voter ID law are unconstitutional, court rules

While the two of you attempt to justify voter suppression ( because you are brainwashed to ) the nation is seeing these laws for what they are...

    UNCONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT WING GARBAGE.

Mike Pence walks 10 Nuns out of the Voting Booth - Greg Palast

In 2008, 10 nuns walked into a voting station, a place where they had been voting for decades, and they were told “Scram sisters” because Indiana had just passed its voter ID law. It was the first state in the nation that said you had to have a photo voter ID. So the nuns proudly showed their drivers licenses, except that the licenses had expired because they were all in their eighties and nineties. But they hadn’t expired. Nevertheless, they were told they couldn’t vote because they needed a current state ID, even though there’s no reason why. There’s no logic for any voter ID because in the 100 years in which records have been kept, not one single person in a 100 year history of voting in Indiana — not one — was found to have used someone else’s identity. In other words, using identify theft to cast a vote. Because you are going to the hoosegow for a very long time, at least 5 years under federal law and more under state law. But, nevertheless, this was the first voter ID law. This is the voter ID law that Justice Scalia provided the fifth and deadly vote in favor of, saying that it was constitutional and okay under the Voting Rights Act. Now, the Voting Rights Act itself has been killed by the former Scalia court

Much of Wisconsin's voter ID law has just been overturned. During oral arguments the panel of judges asked our attorney general how many cases of voter fraud he had found and prosecuted. His answer was none.
These laws seem to be fixing a problem that doesn't exist.

that's a selective memory. ohio woman , democrat , voting official ring a bell. just think if ohio had voter iD laws she would not have been able to cheat and would not have had to do 5 years in jail.

Nearly every reasonable person agrees that voter fraud is nearly non-existent.

Voter suppression is real, and race/class based. Every voter ID law in modern times has been put forth by Republicans, except Rhode Island's law, which was race based, as there has never been one case.

In spite of some people's protestations, support of voter suppression is the truest test for a racist/elitist.

When you GO to vote, if you are on the voter rolls, YOU ARE ALREADY CLEARED TO VOTE. All that is necessary is demonstrate that you are the person on the rolls.

NOBODY can vote if they are NOT on the rolls.

How you think you can get voter fraud if a person isnt on the rolls is laughable at best.

Again, its always repubitards who get caught voting for dead people..
