Las Vegas teens face murder charges for hit-and-run of retired cop
Las Vegas cops previously detained the 17-year-old driver accused of killing Andreas Probst, 64, on August 14, and now they have arrested his accomplice too.
Police said they also tied the teens to at least three hit-and-run incidents the same day. They believe the slaying of Probst, a former police chief in Bell, California, ended the spree.
According to police, the crime spree began at around 5.30am when the teenagers allegedly struck a 72-year-old bicyclist before driving off and crashing into a Toyota Corolla.
The driver wasn't injured in the crash, police said, although they didn't detail what injuries, if any, the bicyclist suffered.
Seconds after striking the Toyota, the teenagers drove into Probst as he rode his bicycle in a designated bike lane, police said.
They took off while laughing, said Deputy Police Chief Nick Farese, 'leaving him for dead on the side of a road.'

Not in my state. Life in prison means you leave in a box. I couldn't imagine a worse sentence when you are a young man knowing you will never be allowed to live a normal life. Death would look pretty good.
No, plenty of people given life sentences eventually got paroled.
