Or
C.) Respect the decision of the people who pay us.

Wow!... I hope you are not negotiating our next contract! While we are using your logic we can;

-respect their decision to eliminate our healthcare
-respect their decision to give us paycuts
-respect their decision to outsource our work

So it's ok for us to deliver boxes that look like they've been run over by a tank but a goatee is unprofessional???

Really not a fan on damaged packages are handled. Sheet it as undeliverable damage, then the customer is pissed. Take it to the customer, and explain the policy, that is, if you want to open it and check it, then you have to accept it, they look at you like you have 3 eyes. So 9/10 times they accept it, then are pissed it's damaged. Unsure why we can't be witness to customers checking packages.

This will probably get lost in the shuffle but YOU CAN WEAR A GOATEE AND BE A DRIVER!!! We have a guy in our center who has found a way around it. He got a note from his doctor saying he can't shave that area because of irritation. Silly excuse BUT it has worked for months now.

As of this week we have been directed not to sheet any obvious damaged packages as missed or damaged. We have been directed to sheet as ni1 and turn in to QC. But at least we are clean shaven!!

I promise a little neatly groomed facial hair isn't going to scare away customers.

And this is why UPS has the clean shaved policy. If you have facial hair, then it is open to opinion as to what is neat and trimmed. With the policy we have now, there is little room for debate.

You are the last line of defense, so to speak, and if you feel that the package is not deliverable then don't deliver it. Per our most recent DIAD training, sheet the package as missed and send an ODS to your mgt team giving them a heads up.

Would you want to come home and see that package sitting by your front door?

For the past year we were directed to sheet these as refused,didn't want and put inspect in the remarks column. Nice to see the company has figured this one out
