How is Teamcare compared to the Teamsters Western Region and Local 177 Health Care Plan?

You will be shocked at the horrible healthcare you get with team care.. They are a bunch of crooks.. GO to the doctor and get a bill for 1000.00.. You will have to pay your copay, then 20% of the 1000.00… so about 220.. Now, team care will get a discount off that original bill of 1000… They will be able to discount it to about 700.00.. My question is why don't we get to pay 20% of the discount they get??? Why do we have to pay 20% of the original bill… If we too were able to get a discount our 20% would only be 140.00, not 200.00.. It makes no sense to me but I am use to the scam.. I will never understand why our union stuck us in this crappy plan with a bunch of crooks.. Don't believe me ?? Watch the movie casino.. They mention Central states health and pension fund at the beginning of the movie.. Our plan lost so much money because the former directors were in with the mob..

I have never paid more than copay at first under any plan. Then wait and after the insurance bills the doctor and gets paid I get a bill from the doctor and pay the remaining balance.

Teamcare is pretty good - until you try to find a "participating provider".
For some of us who are having their benefits cut and are losing some of our doctors, it downright stinks.

I have had BC/BS PPO since I started working here. No complaints whatsoever with their coverage and reimbursement rates.

BC/BS PPO can vary widely as to how good they are. My mother was federal civil service and had blue cross/blue shield. The coverage was great most of the years she worked but the last few years it changed into fairly crappy insurance.

Sad I mentioned previously, I am losing both my eye dr and my dentist and will now be forced to choose amongst some fly-by-night operations out of strip malls with doctors who I can't even attempt to pronounce their names.
My eye doctor is at the hospital(ophthalmologist). They treat them as a regular doctors visit.

It will be fine until the the General Election in 2016.
After that, the next year, annual deductibles kick in and that's when it will all come unravelled.
It will be slow bleed from there and all these Teamcare cheerleaders will be nowhere to be found.

This is incorrect. There are already annual deductibles in Teamcare, in the amount of $200/individual and $400/family. When the new plan takes effect, that amount will drop to $100/individual and $200/family, which will continue through 2018, when it's time to start the whole contract business all over again.
