i can think of number of reason: beside that, maybe he broke off to do pickups, time sensetive packages, or maybe its a signature required and met her on the street and she didnt have an id with her, to name a few

Heavy ass furniture isn't a reason to not bring it to the door. That's what hand carts are for. Judging by the video the houses are not very far from the gate.

It would need to be more than just a heavy package.
