It's time to bring back this thread. After hearing about the deaths of 2 feeder drivers I came back to Brown Cafe to get some info on the 2 drivers killed. As a feeder driver who goes to Jax I hoped to maybe get some info on who the drivers died.

After not posting on Brown Cafe for a while due to the overwhelming negative posts by upstate, I figured this site would have some info on who the drivers were and some kind words about the people they were.

When I logged on, the posts about the drivers killed was dominated by upstate being a total ass as he always has been.

Lets slam and shame him into leaving Brown Cafe and make this worth site visiting again.
Feel better now?

I know nothing about the guy..I just really didn't care for a recent comment that he made on here, which was "We are overpaid for what we do."

You've never thought that?!?!?! Seriously?!?!? $85k to deliver boxes.

I've had both days. Days where I think, "Holy crap, they pay me way too well to do something that any common person could do with minimal effort." But then I have days where I don't think they pay me anywhere near enough money. So it about equals out. If you had asked 18 year old me if I ever thought I would make this kind of money I would have thought you were crazy. So I find myself very fortunate to have such a well paying and personally rewarding job. Especially knowing that I make double what some of my friends make who went to school to have a career and make enough to get by.

My favorite line from a UPS employee ever was said by our feeder driver last week.

"I can't believe the stupid sons of buddy* pay me all this much money to do this job."

For the wear and tear on the body (in my case), stress of being a swing driver and on the road... it's a fair wage. Most every other industry hasn't kept up with inflation since the 70s, if not fell further and further behind. However it's a mind numbing task and experience so I somewhat agree.

He's really good at playing the devils advocate. I respect that he doesn't seem to compromise in his beliefs no matter how many disagree. I would rather be friends with a man who is honest in his beliefs then one who changes with the wind. I have friends that have a similar approach as Upstate and though we don't always agree, I respect their input. Honestly, how can you hate someone you've never actually met?

Its all good.
Haters are gonna hate. I agree with some things he says, disagree with others. I don't mind butting heads with him when he's wrong. But some members will dog pile on him just because they think it's the cool thing to do. And that's just not right.

In my humble, well respected opinion, as judged by a group of unbiased peers, this person of interest often makes excellent, on point commentary.

Upstate amuses me. He's Brown Cafe's version of Cliff Clavin.

He just tells it like it is
I don't know about that but I've often wondered why he is the target of such hatred. He's opinionated, but most around here are. And if his opinions aren't always BC "politically correct", who cares?

My only issue with him has only been on the occasions when he post his "last post" rants. Enough with the theatrics! You're not going anywhere.

He's a narcissist in every sense of the word. He not only thrives off the conflict he creates, he needs it to supplement his identity on here.

I don't agree with the contradictions he always posts. Such as he makes up his own "methods" , some of them which are Cardinal sin infractions but has no problem "preaching " how others should be fired for far less mistakes at ups.
His hatred and disdain for the union is another reason he's hypocritical. He will take all the pay and benefits fought for him by that, but will turn around and say how we are all overcompensated in every way and we should be receiving cuts. But those cuts should only apply after his retirement and he has received all of his.

It's not a matter of hate. Hate is a strong word. It's a matter of constant hypocritical stances on almost every aspect on here. Have I agreed with Dave on a few points? Sure. But his overall positions on the important points always reflect his narcissism.
He is right always unless he's wrong but even then he will never admit it.

Other than that, he brings a lot of the grief and making fun jabs on himself. I think subconsciously he likes the attention whether negative or positive.

He reminds me of the Morton Downey Jr of BC.
