Worked out horribly but a lot has changed since then. Around here Amazon trucks are like fire hydrants.....there’s one on every street corner. Competition is not only a good thing but has the potential of leaving us with our pants down.Would have been a worse look if they allowed our system to get overrun like in 2013. How did that work out for UPS
All seasonal s are technically scabs. The company has been using them for how long?Lots of PVD scabs. They haven’t called a single one of us to work doubles either.
Bittersweet. But atleast were working less hard. It makes it sort of worth it.
Well the fired the entire hr department, they raised rates and are employing more and more robots. I dont see a down quarter on the horizon for some timeLet's wait and see the 4th quarter numbers and how Wall Street reacts.
Shut it king scabAll seasonal s are technically scabs. The company has been using them for how long?
You mean those things I push/drop on the lip separating the floor from the rear floor, hoping they get damaged? You forgot trampolines
Weird times. My building hired all ‘seasonal’ folks back in late October. No one new has come since. I guess they may already be one of us.All seasonal s are technically scabs. The company has been using them for how long?
Our hub still has crazy volumeMany hubs are already cutting hours and sending people home (seasonal) early. Volume down, helpers told to stay home. You folks see what happens when you put a woman in charge of peak? Only the smoothest run peak in UPS history.
On the other hand, some areas are paying PVDs top rate. That can't be good for the bottom line.Well the fired the entire hr department, they raised rates and are employing more and more robots. I dont see a down quarter on the horizon for some time
With no pension contributions or medical benefits that’s an absolute bargain. On the other hand, some areas are paying PVDs top rate. That can't be good for the bottom line.
It's a disgrace to our Union when my dispatcher builds a route for my PVD driver and I act as the shuttle driver bringing his work to him. I did not work one peak day into the dark this year. I punched out at 2:51pm today code 06. Seeing all of our volume get dumped onto the post office and watching the postal carriers shove our packages into the mailbox is a joke too. We need drastic changes next contract in many key areas.
Here Target is still ours and SurePost.Perhaps but the effect is pretty substantial in my neck of the woods. Normally routes are littered with Target, Macy’s, Nordstrom’s, Costco, Amazon, and others. Only big player now seems to be Costco but Target seems to be relying heavily on FedEx. Yes this has been a peak season that in reality was a “weak season”, but at what cost. When it was blasted all over the news that we weren’t picking up shippers, that did far more harm then good.
People need to understand that less volume equals less jobs. Only time will tell but our QE 4 numbers will either be the Golden Goose or the guillotine.
My top 5 deliveries ranked in order. Here Target is still ours and SurePost.
Relax. OnTrac will handle itWe have no volume cause our customers are pissed at us not picking them up and blasting it all over the news. Subsequently they are now mostly using FedEx.
Yeah Carol, smooth move. It’s nothing any of us should be bragging about.
I guess our boss never used to take dues from temp seasonal workers.
Mine days consist of....My top 5 deliveries ranked in order.
1. Amazon
2. Macy's
3. Target
4. Hello Fresh
5. Poop boxes
Same thoughts here. Which kind of pisses me off because I’ve been told by management for the last 33 years that I had to go out with a high dispatch because it’s the only way ups can make money.I think they're going to have a record quarter
