How much you gonna net on that?
Government's taking about $900 from that $3K, counting state income tax. Gotta pay for all the people not working. Obviously, I usually gross a lot less but had a heavy week. Every week at this amount would be over $150K a year. Would be dead before then though.

What’s “big” on 401k?
If you’re under age 50, your maximum 401(k) contribution is $22,500 in 2023.
If you’re 50 or older, your maximum 401(k) contribution is $30,000 in 2023.

So depending on your age between $400 and $600 a week if your maxing out.

Already done maxing our Roth401k for the year at 30% contribution rate, doing $1k a week into after tax brokerage for the rest of the year.

Pension is something that keeps food on the table. 401k/other investments is what keeps a feast on the table.

To that means, I work 6 punches, not because I have to, because I want to. I feel sorry for those that feel like they have to, 5 days a week.

Make a plan, be better than your parents were, make it better for those after you.

I don’t work 6 punches to help my younger union brothers get out on the road and gain experience…plus I’ll never do favors for management.
