I was told by my union steward that as a TCD, if I run a full route Mon-Fri, I'm not obligated to accept Saturday work. Is this true?

Extra work is offered from the top, down. If you have already worked 5 days, it has to be offered to all FT drivers that have worked 5 days. Guys in our center grieved that and won back pay for it.

In the south, the work week is 5 consecutive days. I used that language in peak when they pulled the “forced” Saturday during peaks. them.
