End of last year, UPS purchased 950 of these electric step vans, manufactured by a Cincinnati based company, Workhorse Group.

Does anyone know if they are in service yet?

Workhorse Group is looking at purchasing the former GM plant in Lordstown, Ohio. It's the former factory of the Chevy Cruze.

Ya, I know all about this news from the end of last year. It's why I'm asking about them now.

Apparently cheryl doesn't read well. My first sentence was about UPS purchasing 950 of these electric step vans.....
Derp.

From the second link I posted:

UPS will test the vehicles primarily on urban routes across the country, including Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles.

UPS has more than 300 electric vehicles deployed in Europe and the U.S., and nearly 700 hybrid electric vehicles.

I assume they would only be used in warm climates.
