You think so? The Canadian government has frozen the assets of more than 200 entities charged or alleged to have been directly involved in last weeks protests that blocked cross border commerce. No surprise there. The Canadian government knows that if it gets sued by US companies for the economic losses they sustained due to the blockade the damages could be substantial . The Canadian government didn't blockade the bridges. Only a certain minority of Canadian citizens decide to take the law into their own hands. Making the responsible parties pay the damages out of their own pockets rather than the public treasury seems quite reasonable and customary.

It's only fair that the citizens take the law into their own hands when the government derives its power and legitimacy from the people, and the government has completely ignored the law and charter of rights for two years. That's the sort of thing that needs to be protested.

Oh goodie. So this means you believe it’s quite reasonable and customary for the BLM and anti police protesters paying the damages from the “Summer of Love” out of their own pockets rather than the public treasury. I’m glad to hear that. I really hated the idea of my tax dollars paying for that idiocy.
Since when did BLM blockade the cross border traffic between two closely allied nations one of whom happens to be the US largest trading partner?

Taking the law into ones own hands is one thing along with the consequences that invariably comes with it is another. Justifying your actions simply be crying out the words "rights" and "freedom" does not in any way absolve you of those consequences. The only place where they'll find a "get out of jail free" card is on a Monopoly game board.

We agree. Most of the government of Canada and the United States, and many countries around the world should be put in jail. I guess they, and BLM protesters, live on a Monopoly game board.

Unbelievable! You paint your opinion inside of the same illogical box as every other liberal. So what if BLM didn't blockade! When you make a statement like this you're putting BLM, which WAS an incredibly corrupt & Marxist entity now defunct and having 50 million unaccounted for, as being above perpetrating such an act. Blockades weren't in the BLM bailiwick. SO WHAT? You have big problems making ANY sort of point when you use these apples & bowling balls comparison. Totally off the map bro.

However occupying other people land and property were part of their plan.
So technically they did do blockages.

They didn't blockade. They barricaded and occupied.

Jail. On what charges? And what would you replace it with? An monarchy? A plutocracy? That seems to be the direction we're headed in the states. How about an autocracy? That's what we're dealing with in Russia. Perhaps an Iran style theocracy would be more to your liking?

On what charges? Lol. Violating their oaths of office by violating the constitutional rights of the people who pay their salaries. Fraud. Crimes against humanity. I could go on. Who said anything about replacing it? You're wierd. I would like to see our constitutional republic restored, and the end of the gaslighting about us being a democracy. Democracy is tyranny of the majority. And the majority can be fooled into supporting the violation of their own rights, which is why we have a constitutional republic. That is why people are justified in taking the law into their own hands when their rights are violated, because government officials have no legitimate power or right to infringe on them. This is basic civics, like high school level stuff. No wonder most liberals don't understand it.

Canadian Premier Sues Trudeau over Emergencies Act Use: 'There Is No Insurrection'

The premier of Alberta is suing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over allegations the liberal leader abused his authorities to stop peaceful protests against his policies.

Premier Jason Kenney announced he is filing a lawsuit against the federal government of Canada and PM Trudeau for their use of the Emergencies Act.

Kenney slammed the move in a statement, calling it “unjustified in the circumstances.”

Kenney made clear that he still wanted law and order restored, and did not want to be misconstrued.

He continued by adding that he believed protestors should not be able to blockade the center of any city, much less the nation’s capital, for any reason or cause.

"But the Emergencies Act was designed to come into effect at the failure of the state,” in the event of a coup or insurrection that threatened to topple Canada’s democratic institutions.

Kenney took particular issue with the coercive measures imposed on financial institutions by the federal government.

If Trudeau and his allies were allowed to continue using their Emergencies Act powers to crack down on political dissent, “it sets a very dangerous precedent,” Kenney said.

Kenney also took issue with Trudeau’s personal conduct during the protests.

He told the Edmonton Sun that during a teleconference with provincial leaders last week, six of the ten premiers pleaded with Trudeau not to invoke the Emergencies Act, but Trudeau did it anyway.

Trudeau also “provoked” the truckers by implementing the cross-border mandate.

“There was no defensible medical reason to require them to be vaccinated,” said Kenney.

Then Trudeau made things worse by vilifying the protestors as a fringe minority, and as racists and sexists.

No jab, no getting into the US. It's that simple. Canada has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world. 90% of all Canadian truckers are vaccinated. What right did that unvaccinated minority have to deprive those 90% of their livelihoods ?

What right did the Canadian government have to deprive the 10% unvaccinated their livelihoods? I’ll tell you….no right. That’s why they protested.

Looked to me like the vaccinated truckers were standing alongside the unvaccinated.

It wasn't an anti vax protest. It was anti mandate protest.
Right? That is the point. It's about rights.
Just think if the deprived 90% would have supported the protest instead of kissing Trudeau's ass.
