Corporate America screwing us

It is not the power of the central government you need to concern yourself with. Rather fear the radically misshapen form of capitalism that works in a government it has bought ultimate control of.

And if we want to play fairly, we could look up right wing radicals. Just google "neo cons". Of course the difference is that they are not from 25 years ago. They hold levers of power here and now. Sometimes the fish in the barrel are just too close.

1)Bank deregulation,2) Iraq and Afghanistan wars and 3)outsourcing of American jobs to China, India, Mexico and so on. Repeating, word for word, what some Billionaire radio guy says doesn't make you one of them. You will never be them. These are the real reasons the American economy isn't were it could be. Items 1,2 and 3 have all made a small number of Americans VERY wealthy while the remainder of us, no so much. And Politicians secretly laugh at us, turning our democracy into a sporting event were the fans hate the other team and will never have a good thing to say about each others ideals, even if those same ideals were theirs a year ago. Do you know what a retired congressman gets per year? around 60K to play golf everyday plus all the bribe money--I mean lobbyist money they've banked away, not to mention free health care. And here I was thinking half of them hated socialize health care? They have all the money, let them stimulate the economy. But we'll argue back and forth blaming each other when the blame needs to go to the ones that Raped this country. This kind of reminds me of the middle east. The dictators with their 10,000 watches and suits, one for every day of the year, would tell their people whom fight for a piece of bread in the street that America is the reason they have nothing. Well, here the Rich get us to put the blame on each other. And they're not done raping, just see what happens.

I agree. The Right Wing agenda is completely radical, especially the Tea Party folks. I would count Smith as a definite neo-con, and consider the current Right agenda to be bordering on fascism since the corporations and political system seem to be melding into one unit. One common definition of fascism is "a merging of state and business interests, accompanied by fervent nationalism". This almost exactly mirrors Tea Party craziness. I'd say we're almost there. One of the first things Hitler did was eliminate unions. Next came Nazi cooperation and control of the major German corporations. Think Krupp...and Smith.

And the Right, dumb as they are, think Obama is both a Socialist and Fascst. By definition, this is impossible, but that doesn't stop them.

When Smith goes to prison someday perhaps he'll write his own "Mein Kampf".

The Nazis were socialists, look it up. Yeah, let's compare middle aged and older citizens peacefully protesting runaway spending to some of the most evil people in history. If you want to be accurate, it was the Nazis who galvanized public opinion by demonizing primarily one group, the Jews. It's exactly what you just did to Tea Partiers. As I follow the various outlets the one group in this country that continuously stands out for vicious attacks on others, trying to silence anyone who disagrees with their views, is the left. It's ironic that you support the Democrat Party because your actions are anything but democratic. Smith and other big CEO's on the other hand remind me of Tsarist Russia. An extremely rich elite while most citizens were impoverished Serfs. It seems like the path we're on and if these people realized for a second the amount of hate and envy people feel about them I think they'd get worried enough to be more generous. Class warfare will be in the future the single biggest threat to the existence of this country. And for those who scoff, it has happened all through history, just because it isn't right in front of you now doesn't mean the potential isn't there. Someone was behind the scenes organizing the Wall Street protests, those weren't flash mobs. I've been a part of a group that's been forced to get by while coworkers are doing much better. It's not fun and when put on a macro scale, especially as millions are being continuously forced to accept less, you have a breeding ground of discontent driven by haters with their own agendas. Might not happen soon, or 10 years from now, but it's the path we're on.

The Tea Partiers deserved to be demonized. Nobody is advocating their destruction, especially me. In this country, we all have the right to support whatever loony cause we see fit. Fascism and Socialism are diametrically opposed, so perhaps you are confusing the "socialist" name of the Nazi party with the ideology...very different things. The middle-aged and older folks you mention as the core of the Tea Party don't even understand what they're protesting. They want the benefits (Medicare, SS), but don't want to pay for them. For example, please explain the Tea Party rationale that SS is an "entitlement". I don't know about you, but I've put tons of money into Social Security...it isn't an entitlement. It's my money, and I'd like it back when I get old enough to collect, thank you.

The Left makes vicious attacks in comparison to The Right? Ever listen to Beck, Limbaugh etc? How about Savage? The big difference is that The Right controls Fox and radio, two huge powerful weapons in their arsenal. The so-called "mainstream media" may lean left editorially, but they seem rather impotent compared to the Murdoch empire/Fox. All of the money rolling-in for campaign ads mutes their incentive to expose anything that stinks on The Right, and there's a lot. I don't hear ABC,NBC, CNN, and CBS asking Romney about all his offshore accounts or pressuring him to make a full release of financial records. Does the Citizens United decision ring a bell? As far as we know, anyone can pour as much money into a candidate as they want, and it will remain secret. If China wanted to sink a few million into Romney's election campaign, they could.

You and I have always disagreed on this, so I'm not surprised at your response. It always amazes me how anyone who works for a living and is middle or lower class can support The Right, yet they often do. It seems nonsensical to agree with the same people that want to kill unions, drive down wages, and make emperors out of the Smiths and Waltons of this world.

God forbid that Willard gets elected because it will be open season on working people and carte blanche for the elite. Think we're screwed now? Just see what happens if Captain Magic Underpants becomes POTUS.

And if you look at your response you constantly make personal attacks. It's what the left does, period. Ever watch MSNBC? Hear of MoveOn.org? Acorn? George Soros? And you miss the point of the Tea Party. They aren't protesting Social Security and Medicare. They are protesting the runaway spending that threatens those very programs. Are you under the impression that a capitalist nation can't have social programs? I think Social Security is the best idea Democrats ever had. And I want them still there when I need them. If you are familiar with Cloward and Piven then you know what Obama is about. And the only thing in his way is a Republican House. We don't need a president trying to remake America into some leftist vision of social justice. We need one that produces jobs. A prosperous America supports social programs like Social Security. An out of work America puts us closer and closer to destroying it, especially when trillions are being thrown around like chump change.

P.S. Google Nazi socialism. You'll see that the Nazis were socialists in more than name only.

That you have no intention to run for President of the United States.

Oh, I don't know. I tend to think my ego more than large enough. Vetting would lose any "gotcha" moments since I'd tell it all up fron with no apology and a great deal of mirth.

The Tea Party is a fringe movement. Unfortunately for the GOP, they have moved the Republicans so far to the Right that it is damaging the brand...badly. Obama is no Socialist. If anything, he has become a very moderate centrist. The Right has become so extreme that even moderates get portrayed as fire-breathing Socialists. Your "runaway spending"(read stimulus)is probably what saved this country from sinking into a full Depression. Obama has been a much more responsible President than his predecessor when it comes to spending, and there is no "leftist vision".

On a side note, whatever Bill Ayers was, he is no longer. People change. I actually met Ayers a few years ago and have read 2 of his books on education. He's Left, but certainly no longer radical, and a highly respected professor and author. I know the Right loves to portray Ayers as an Obama advisor, which he isn't, but apparently living in the Chicago area is enough to make an evil connection between the two of them.

As I have said before, the Right will drag-up anything they can to harm Obama, even if it's an outright lie. And smart Tea Party politicians know how to get a rise (and votes) out of their dingbat base. So do the talkers on the Right. Too bad they don't actually think through what O'Reilly and Hannity say instead of just accepting it as Fox "truth".

And if you actually knew what they say, as well as the many liberals they have on their shows to argue very heated points with, you'd know that FOX is much more "fair and balanced" than say, MSNBC. Keith Olberman, or is that Oberman, was famous for not allowing anyone on his show that disagreed with him, especially conservatives. And to say Obama is much more responsible in his spending is akin to accusing someone of having their head in the sand, and knowing that because you can see their head from your position in the sand. My "runaway spending" was used to prop up teachers unions across the country. How many "shovel ready" jobs did Obama produce? No, he took care of his voters instead of getting people back to work. Find out how many $150k Federal jobs were in Washington during the Bush era, and compare to now. It's mind boggling. And the Tsars? Another run around Congressional oversight. I could go on but my finger gets tired on the iPad.

It doesn't matter where the money comes from. It all spends the same.
