Always leave the diad in Alpha and when I need a number I hold down the toggle with left thumb while I'm keying the number with right thumb and then release it. Back to Alpha.
Okay First day on DIAD V went great. The scanner is awesome. It has a target on it and you just shoot it a the label and picks it up. It works also on labels that are worn and faded. The touch screen will take some time to get use to. There is a button where you can use the keys instead of the touch screen. The software is the same as the DIAD 4. There is no clip but it did come with a pouch. I forgot by belt so I didn't get to use it yesterday.
I think you will love using it. We did ask "Are you going to give us 15 more stops because of the new technology?" They didn't respond
At least our helpers won't have to use stinking DIAD III again this year. How many times have I had a helper say "I sure wish mine had lights too" I will still be cursed with the alpha key for a few more peaks this way though.
