TCD is a scam.... you are either a full time driver or not...

PTCD's are a vital part of our operation.

My loader is a PTCD. He loaded and drove Tuesday and Wednesday, running a residential split car both days. I think he had between 130-140 stops each day. We had three PTCD's on road both days, each averaging the same stop count, so we had 400 stops that would have been added to an already busy day for the bid FT drivers.

Or they could hire FT drivers.

Allergic to cardboard.
We continue to hire FT drivers and have eliminated all TCDs and most air drivers. The new FTers are back to their PT shifts as soon as they finish their 30 days. Just not enough work and not enough drivers that want to take dead days.

I was hired as a TCD last October 2016. I drove all peak season and then started preload in January. I keep hearing that I will be driving soon but I still haven't. I have reached seniority and I notice there are other TCD below me driving while I'm still working preload. I was told it was because I am very fast and a hard worker in preload. I can't afford to keep working preload at 11/hr when I live 40 miles away from the hub so I was told I could just not show up for preload and wait for them to call me to start driving again. When I look at my timecard it says no call. Is this bad? Can I be fired? Is it better to show up and continue working preload? I can't find anywhere what the requirements are and what are the consequences when you don't show up for preload.
Work the preload and bring your uniform to drive. If there are other drivers with less seniority you have the right to work first. Otherwise just file grievances and get paid for going home

Yesterday was the start of my one year countdown and I am already thinking of what I want to do on my last day.

I don't know if it's too soon but hopefully not this
