There’s nothing that says you can’t work for UPS with dreads so I don’t understand the fuss. The only condition is long hair must not exceed shoulder length and must be able to be hidden under the cap.

They do look like though. Even the girls ran from Justin Bieber when he tried it.

I’ve recently began to dabble with the canvas life.

I’m very hated cause I’m fabulous. I say thats how I feel almost everyday. Hated by many clerks cause I’m the clerk who has a huge personality and loves to laugh...

I had a mohawk for years...my HR rep assured me it was fine. He said I could keep it under my hat nbd. I showed up at integrad rockin it like always nbd was pulled into the managers office the second day, bright and early. She explained that she had to contact corporate HQ to ask for clarification and they were crystal clear on the rules: shave it or back to the hub. I told her no problem, packed clippers with me jic. I called my HR guy and let him know, shaved my head, crushed my tests, passed the course went back to center and was put on a killer training route and just made book. Lol. Lucky me. Anyway, in my experience they're serious about everything, you have to prove you'll do anything for the job. Even have to write them a letter explaining why you believe you deserve the job and why they should choose you.

Letter, sales lead, dok tests 2xweek until perfect, scratch the route, polished boots etc etc. My center manager claims this whole protocol of vetting potential new drivers started in NY to weed out the guys that were hired and raised on the entitled "us against them" mentality. He said it took almost 3 years but now they have the best center in the country. Whatever that means. I just wanted to share my rookie experience.
