PT Stewie

"Big Fella"
How about the 10 pt's that show up every day and get sent home early while the sups finish their work. [/

PT Stewie - get your people to do the work - Don't send EVERYONE home, keep a couple to close out your area. Last tip and I will leave you alone - stand up to your ft supervisor or manager (I know what your thinking, easy to say hard to do). You do not get paid to load/unload you get paid to supervise.

Stewie is short for steward. I agree with you the PT Sups should speak up and let the worker bees do their job. As a steward I have always been fair and tell the union people I represent (right in front of mangt.) to do their job as fast as they can without loosing accuracy and work to the best of their ability and to make sure they get their 3.5.Even then they get sent home and a pt sup does their job.It has been going on so long it is hard to combat.

You keep it real Tie !
I'll be there next week.
And, I'll have the same legal rights as you, (if for example I get falshly accused and end up in jail, or many other rights, that are common under the human rights act. )

Klein, My rebuttal is for your to go back and reread my post and use the brain that god hopefully gave you. When you're in my country you have those rights. When you're in Canada and you're scared ****less of offending your socialist master and thus spend every waking minute criticizing this country then you do not have those rights.

I like how canada blocked me from seeing your link. I wish america would somehow block you from posting on this board.

Reread the whole post Tie.
Your taking one sentence out of context and spinning it.
Pretty sure Island1 is a citizen of the US though.
That is who I was replying to.
While your rereading notice how I expanded the arguement to include the fact that this site knows no national boundries.
The rights you refer to that we enjoy as Americans in the Constitution state that these are basic rights of man and are inallienable.
Obviously our Constitution has no standing in other countries but has served as a model to many since.
My underlying point in the whole post was that no one person has "more of a right to their opinion" than the next person.

I thought that was your point and I disagreed with it. I think Island has more of a right to his opinion here in this country then some coward who critcizes us from inside his border. Let that person come here and pay "his fair share of american taxes" and then go ahead and tell me why this country is screwed up.

No, I'm afraid you're mistaken. Reading articles in the WSJ, recent books and documentaries (Frontline, NPR, etc) the main problem was greed.

Greed in an indirect way. Political greed by our politicians being influenced by the greed of special interest groups.

But clearly the housing bubble was caused by excessively loosening up the credit standards. Thus many people got mortgages that could not reasonably afford them. Lending institutions that did not make those loans available were sued or embarassed into submission. Those that over leveraged their buying power with interest only loans or those that bought houses they could not afford were the first to default. Those that lost their jobs after the economic collapse were next.
Nothing reinforces this point more then our government tightening lending requirements this past April. Something that would normally be unthought of during an economic recession when loosening the flow of money is needed to recover.

Its extremely hard to understand what lead up to this without knowing the full details. If their labor group as a whole is as bad as what we have here, I guess I could see 177's point. If the bill board, banner saves 1 life it is money well spent.

I also do know that you have options, OSHA for one. We had a couple complaints called in several months ago and I was just notified today that the company received $47,000 in fines for serious safety infractions.

I wish someone from 177 could give us the full story so we could debate full facts instead of what ifs.

This site isn't just limited to US citizens. It is set up to give us all an equal opportunity to express our views and opinions. With that in mind I guess if Tie and Island want to profess their belief that they have more of a right to their opinion than somebody else, then I guess that's their right as well. We don't have to agree, but in the process are exposed as elitest ego maniacs. I'm not a fan of most of Klein's views, but he does have a right to them in my book, regardless of his geographic locale

I probably have more relatives in the states, then an average US citizen.
6 Aunts, 1 Uncle , and they all gave me plenty of cousins, and grand cousin.
So, in that regard, my family tree is paying big times taxes in the US.
From county sherriff, to owner of an Automoble Dealership.

There are plenty of Canadian websites that American people also use.
Such as "plentyoffish", lavalife, ebay, just to name a few.

And tie be happy, you couldn't get that CBC documentary.
Maybe it would have changed your mind a bit ??

But, the german one was really good, with amazing escapes shown.
It's really a shame.

I can't get most american shows here, either online.
I'm not sure why some sites work and some don't.

Now settle the peace, before I leave in 2 days ! :) :peaceful:

The orginal point is and was that this country does not protect his rights to badmouth this country from canada. Your taking it a few steps further.

i don't need his continued efforts to badmouth this country when he does not have the guts to do the same in his own. Klein is another example of whats wrong with a socialized government. He is afraid to offend his socialist masters in Canada so he spends his time badmouthing our country instead.

Tie, just keeping up with the conversations here.
No one seems to talk about Canadian Politics.
And probably not even worth mentioning.
Since we didn't have a banking crises, nor home crises. (due to our regulations, that once the USA had, before Reagen decided, they were no longer needed).
Healthcare isn't a debate here, neither. We are generally happy with it (77%).
Our dollar isn't sinking, but rising way too fast.
If anything we could bitch about, is unemployment at 8%.
And, the topic that never ends here, are the higher taxes on booze, cigs, and gasoline, compared to the south.
Small price to pay though, for everyone living atleast a half decent life, and not one single Ghetto in any city, and less crime.

And we also don't have the partisan poilitics as the US does.
More parties to chose from, and it hardly makes a conversation here, unless some scandal arises or it's voting time.

No doubt, we have a different view here.
I know our conservatives are different.
Here they are known as fiscal responsible, and want to pay off debt as quick as they can.
Thats why I vote for them.

Sorry, again you are wrong. UPS deserves this and more. We have been enduring some of the most heinous criminal behavior known to man perpetrated and STARTED by management. Management has been lying, cheating, verbally abusing, dishonestly setting drivers up and unfairly discharging, timecard shaving and generally creating a hostile work environment for some time now.
.

No doubt in my mind. Its part of our overall operating plan to kidnap you into slavery driving our trucks. I'm sure you folks and UPS will now all be the best of friends after you flew that plane.

See here is what I can't figure out.

You guys say your side has done everything right in private and ups would not listen to you and forced you into this act.

But the world sees that your side made this public.
UPS didn't rent a plane and fly a banner you guys did.

yet we are supposed to believe that your side is the good guys in this dispute.

To me I see you guys throwing the first punch and then trying to say you were somehow made to throw that punch.

Are we talking about the same company that didn't bother to renew a contract with the mechanics for THREE years? Must of been a minor oversight..........

Yep.......the company is innocent and wouldn't ever do what the billboard and banner accuses them of. (sarcasm).

I think you stepped over the edge on that one. This country supports the rights of all who want to live here and be americans. This country has never supported the rights of those who are citizens of other countries and live in other countries.

Keep it real bubble.

Can't believe I missed this post.
Tie you must be desperate and definitely slipping a bit.
Off the top of my head, hear are some examples of "this country supporting the rights of those who are citizens of other countries that live in other countries":

World War I,
World War II,
Korea,
Vietnam,
Iraq, just to name a few of the obvious ones.

This country has often supported the rights of those who are citizens of other countries that live in other countries.
Some would even contend that we have done so throughout history to a fault.
I think you're the one who stepped over the edge on this one.

what can I say the mechanics refuse to renew the contract.

Again you guys are trying to employ the old stop hitting my fist with your face routine here.

They flew the plane and banner they blinked first.

bubbles you haven't told me anything here. Again this country supports the rights of those who live here and work here. They do no support the rights of cowards who slam this country from foriegn countries.

Let him pay taxes here if he wants those rights. I'm sure he'll pay a lot he enjoys paying taxes.

I do pay Florida property taxes every year.
And 11% when I visit and eat there.
Crazy, only 5% here.

I have another video of the same incident over edison, apparently, the suits had advance notice of this plane and had a lookout ready to spot it.

You must be kidding! This company signs a contract with this union and then every single day they try to subvert that agreement. And we threw the first punch ?

The effort that UPS goes through to cheat the agreement they signed is amazing. And we are the bad guys ?

This last contract you had the Teamsters over a barrel due to the pension funding issues. UPS was not bullied into singing anything and yet your still not happy.

Local 177 does not want anything more than this contract allows. Nothing more. Nothing less!

This was an act of frustration over UPS using its considerable power and welth to not honor the agreement it signed.

Managments attitude is... yes we have an agreement and we know we are not following it so what are you going to do about it.

Thats the honorable way to do buisness ?
