I would think that the bigger point that you don't want to see is that it is the liberal commie pig Jerry Brown with the knowledge that he's going to have to deal strongly against the public unions whereas Meg Whitman will easily sell out her "conservative" credentials to court the support. Hmmmm. What word do you think applies?

We don't need a governor moonbeam. He had his chance. I don't think Meg is a sell out........therefore the word is governor!

Don't forget Jerry Brown's record last time he was governor

We lived in California when Jerry Brown was governor before and it amazes me that California seems poised to put him back in office. Thomas Sowell reminds us of one Brown-induced fiasco for which the entire state suffered.
At one time, Governor Jerry Brown was riding high in the Democratic Party, and was considered a rising prospect for that party's nomination for President of the United States. Then something happened that told us all what kind of man he was.

There was an infestation of Mediterranean fruit flies out in California's agricultural heartland in the interior valleys. Despite being urged to allow spraying of insecticide out in the valleys, to nip the infestation in the bud, Governor Brown pandered to the environmental extremists and refused.

The net result was that the "Med flies," as they were called, spread from the valleys out into cities and towns as far west as the San Francisco Bay Area. Faced with a major political disaster, Jerry Brown finally authorized spraying-- over a vastly larger area than when he was first asked. That fiasco spared us a Jerry Brown administration in Washington.

No wonder his supporters have sprung an October surprise about Meg Whitman's housekeeper. They need a distraction from his record.
"And then there was his choice for chief justice of the California supreme Court, Rose Bird, who over-ruled every single death penalty verdict that came her way because she was personally against capital punishment and figured that she could ignore the law and rule her personal preferences. Does California really want more of these sorts of appointments and policies? Do they want to continue the policies that have landed California in the budgetary nightmare where it is now? If they put this guy back in office, they deserve what they'll get." (From Betsy's page)

Got my absentee ballot in the mail and I'm voting today.....

Meg - check
Carly - check
legalize weed.......NOT !!!

Being that this is Democratic California I doubt I will make a difference, but if enough people who may think like me all vote this way......we'll see, maybe. I can't possibly try to make a difference if I don't at least vote. :peaceful:

Arizona heat is unbearable to me!!! SoCal coast has the most perfect moderate weather in the U.S. All summer long we barely hit 85 a few times. Best summer I've had here.

Soros: I Can’t Stop a Republican ‘Avalanche’

George Soros, the billionaire financier (scumbag socialist) who was an energetic Democratic donor in the last several election cycles (spent millions) but is sitting this one out, is not feeling optimistic about Democratic prospects.
“I made an exception getting involved in 2004,” Mr. Soros, 80, said in a brief interview Friday at a forum sponsored by the Bretton Woods Committee, which promotes understanding of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
“And since I didn’t succeed in 2004, I remained engaged in 2006 and 2008. But I’m basically not a party man. I’d just been forced into that situation by what I considered the excesses of the Bush administration.”
Mr. Soros, a champion of liberal causes, has been directing his money to groups that work on health care and the environment, rather than electoral politics. Asked if the prospect of Republican control of one or both houses of Congress concerned him, he said: “It does, because I think they are pushing the wrong policies, (Soros is for leagalization of drugs, nationalize banks, wealth distrubution...Obama agenda, etc.) but I’m not in a position to stop it. I don’t believe in standing in the way of an avalanche.”

Can't come soon enough.
So what do you think changes if the Reps take control of one or both houses? I'm guessing absolutely nothing. Not enough votes to repeal anything, not enough votes to move anything forward. Sounds like no matter what happens, we are where we've been for 2 years, no?

Not at what I meant--I am so tired of the negativity.
