For some unknown reason UPS is unable to provide a decent windbreaker. Especially for warmer weather.

To bad they don’t make those any more
Under armor base layer brown shirt over that could stay comfortable on all but the coldest days

We aren’t allowed to wear any sort of balaclava and the winter jacket they give us might as well be a trash bag with holes

#1. Why didn't you just say face mask so 90% of the people on here didn't have to look it up to see what the hell you were talking about?

#2. You actually listen to them and obeyed their orders? Shame on you.

#3. When it's brutally cold out wear what you need to survive.

You can condition yourself for the cold. I take cold showers every day in 46 degree water.

Look up the benefits of cold water therapy. (Focus, alertness, alleves anxiety, depression, boosts immune response, boosts testosterone, boosts will power, improves stress tolerance, creation of brown fat cells which boost metabolism and improve body temperature, increased circulation, conscious adrenaline control, etc ) Last week I worked in sub zero weather all week, and still never missed a day of my cold showers.

I'll take -20 any day over 90 and humid.

Just curious. Has UPS ever called it for extreme cold? We are going to have a high of single digits and a wind chill of - double digits. I'm definitely going to work tomorrow, but I was just thinking about how cold it would have to be for them to cancel work! haha

What ever you do, please, for the love of God make sure you wear two socks and heavy boots.

I made the noobish mistake of walking into snow and getting my socks wet and cold. It was -5 and my feet were killing me.

He who laughs last didn't get it.
We worked one day it was 52 below. That's NOT windchill temp--that was actual temp. The HIGH temp for that whole week was 13 below. That was one brutal week. I don't recall anyone calling in sick. We had 19 below this morning. Haven't seen a mosquito all weekend.

I routinely wash trucks in below zero weather. It sucks....and everyone on preload is always sick. We have to open the garage doors to get this done. Its brutal.

You will be called in early when the extreme negative temperatures are in, Not because of concern for your safety but because the board will be shutting down believe me. It’s what happened to us few years back when the temperature when’s down to -16

-16 or lower (-25) happens neerly every year here.
They have never called us in because of cold. When the boards get slow, they tell you to put them on the heater, they don't call us in.

-16 is nothing.
