Sure. Where's the shame in that? Problem is that whoever we put into elected positions can only make differences on the margins and even that takes years. Overall the fact remains that money and power will run any system and those with the money and power want to keep the money and the power. Where's the shame in that? Our political/lobbying system is so corrupt and obviously controlled by those with the big fat wallets that I'm surprised you can even make such a statement.
The people in power aren't ashamed of it. The people who finance them continue to do so. Two parties allow it to continue election after election (campaign finance reform? HA!). Millions of people vote for the two party candidates. And still we live in the greatest country in the world. What's to be ashamed of?
