Using ethnic Russian locals as separatists Putin supplied them with equipment early on in that war. Obama refused to give the Ukrainians defensive weaponry so early on it was going badly for Ukraine. Trump came in and gave them anti-tank missiles and other weapons. Turned the tide and Putin didn't dare invade while Trump was president. It's reported he's massed 80,000 troops on the Ukrainian border and apparently doesn't think Biden will stop him. And withdrawing the 2500 American troops out of Afghanistan is hardly a major factor.

Obama wasn't about to give Ukraine weapons as long as the Putin puppet was the so called president. Why do you think NATO doesn't want to get dragged into the fray? Still politically unstable. And sure Trump would give them weapons. But, would he have continued to give them weapons when the current head of state refused to be drawn into an organized attempt to frame Hunter Biden? Wasn't about to be blackmailed by Trump.
