Happy Vacation

I never said anything about collecting S. S. and living off shore. However I'm staying here and I will continue to pay into the system for as long as I can to help keep solvent a program whose future you are always lamenting about as well as the impact it has on the deficit. Just what are you going to do to besides living out of country bitching about the situation but collecting benefits many times greater than what you payed in? Contrary to your long standing belief you are not the only person paying into the system while everybody has lived their whole lives on relief. Among the people who also pay in is the rich Texas oilman's minimum wage gardener. It includes the single mother working 3 minimum wage jobs while her " breed em'and leave em" cowboy ex husband hasn't paid a dime in child support in years. Now if you were to take away EIC, Medicaid, Food Stamps, rent rebates, AFDC reduced school lunches etc. would that Texas oilman raise his gardener's wages to offset the loss of those benefits. Hell no.! Yes, there are abuses and people gaming the system and in my locale there are regular news reports about people being prosecuted for those offenses and the penalties are steep. There is absolutely no question that your contempt for people who you think are cheating is found in your unhappy memories of your childhood made much worse than they needed to be by having a mother that was too damn proud and too damn stubborn to put you and your siblings well being foremost and accept the help that was designed to make life better for the innocent and the powerless.
I've never complained about Social Security contributing to the deficit. Ever. I've stated numerous times here that it's the best idea the Democrats have ever had. You assume, and presume, too much and are so far off base it's laughable. It just gets under your skin that I've leaving the country to retire overseas. I was picking weeds for a buck an hour when I was 12 in the Florida Sun and have worked hard ever since. The pay and retirement we were told we would get at Express never materialized and now, with health issues that are making it tougher to keep working, I'm looking for the best situation possible with the resources I have. The Social Security payment I will get was earned, and no one invests in anything expecting to only get back what they put in it. And I have no problem with anyone in dire straits getting assistance. But don't tell me it's ok for anyone to live decades on gov't assistance, but not for me to collect the payment promised me for retirement by my country.

Oh sure pal, we communist pinko socialist Democrats are you're best friend when we have something to benefit you but it's not supposed to benefit someone else. And in keeping with your adoration of big business and how it creates opportunities for jobs and security where then is that secure retirement you always talk about?. Well they took it from you because they devalued your contribution and knew also that you couldn't fight back. Many of the the programs you're condemning were created in a effort to curb the abuses of workers on the part of big business and there is a long history of it. So you were pulling weeds at 12 . Big Deal . I was milking cows mucking stalls and sacking grain as much as I was physically able before I left at noon for kindergarten and that's no lie. Am I bragging about it? No. Was I disserviced? I don't know that. What I do know is that this was the life I was given What I do know is that determining whether a person should have benefits or not are up to the judges who are entrusted with making that determination.

You pick weeds for 8 hrs in 97 degree humid weather then come talk to me. You keep ranting that I don't want anyone else to benefit which you know isn't true. There's a huge amount of waste and fraud out there, which you don't seem to have a problem with. We better get things under control soon. For some reason it seems you think I'm the only one getting SS. So tell me, will you refuse it when the time comes?

Why would you care about waste and fraud? You're not going to be here to worry abut it?

It's been there all our lives only now we're in serious debt. You ok with the status quo? I tell you what, if things go as planned I'll check in from time to time to tell you how great it is where I'll be. You can remind me of why I left.

At least I'll be here to try to do something to resolve the problem? Can you say the same? Like they say if you're not part of the solution ..........you're part of the problem.

So you are never retiring? And I'll be doing my part by not using Medicare.

Thank you Uncle Fred for my stay cation. Semper Fi. I have been off 2.5 weeks and now that we have this silly political BS out of the way... I had a wonderful first day of vacation. I do what I do for my kids and my grand kids. I hear that FedEx truck calling but I love my job most days.

Tuesday will be here before we know it.... I really like hanging around the pool with friends. No pics until after election day. ;)

Be safe... and it's Friday eve.

If ther is some production contribution left in me I have an obligation to my peers to put it to ggod use

If there is any production contribution left in me I have an obligation to my peers to put it to good use. It's called citizenship. Don't tell me about hard menial labor. That's how I made my living my entire life but unlike you I do not believe that I am owed something simply because I was born to a poor family.

Who said I come from a poor family? And every person in the U.S. who contributed enough to Social Security is owed a check when they retire. How do you figure they don't?

I never said they didn't but you're the one who is always carping about the deficit and always pointing the finger at someone you think doesn't deserve the same benefits that you are about to receive. There again if you're going to live out of country then I think you should worry about it because there isn't an economist out there liberal or conservative who won't tell you that if it were not for the federal bailout of GM and AIG along with HARP, TARP and the Federal Reserve's QE 1, 2 and 3 the banks would be nationalized and the unemployment rate would be 25%. It's going to happen again there is a long history of it especially if Dodd Frank is repealed and when it does will the U.S. Treasury and the Federal Reserve be reloaded in time to deal with it?So someday you may walk up to that American based bank ATM stick in your card and nothing comes out. So I guess you should be worried. With the U.S dollar the world's reserve currency the success of your foreign based retirement plan is 100% dependent on the stability of the U.S. banking system and when it does destabilize living in Lower Slobovia or Bezrkastan or wherever it is you're going (and I hope it's soon) may have very few advantages remaining.

Try to understand this. Social Security is a separate, self funded program that isn't adding to the deficit. It has it's own issues but isn't part of the debt. Before Obama came into office there was plenty of debt, but his administration has more than doubled it. The first two years it was a Democrat problem but once the Republicans got control of the House they went along for the most part. Before you start talking about wars Bush started I'm talking about huge waste Obama incurred giving incredible sums to single companies like Solyndra. Bottom line there's plenty of blame to go around and don't kid yourself, we can't continue at this pace. We need whatever it takes to get the economy in gear. With a strong economy we can cover needed programs that help people. Otherwise it's a house of cards that'll crash soon enough. If you don't understand that what more can I say? One things is certain, you are resorting to personal attacks which is the liberal blueprint to marginalize anyone who's not with the program. By the way, my grandfather was a millionaire. But his money was tied up in his home and business. He was a well driller. What cash he had was mostly spent taking care of my grandmother after her stroke. He worked hard for everything he had, so did my dad, and I've tried to do the same. Social Security is INSURANCE, and much needed by millions, including me. My hard work got me little at FedEx, and now I'm experiencing issues with my diabetes, including numb feet and weakening eyes. I won't be able to work too much longer. How you can say I think I'm owed something I'm not, when I've paid into it just like everyone else for the day when it'll be needed, is beyond me.

What Obama gave to startup companies was parking meter change compared to 2 wars both which in the end will be lost along with the cost of taking care of the wounded estimated at 50 trillion dollars over the next 40 years along with the worst recession in 80 years. Those 3 events cannot be ignored. So in other words you're not going to make it to 66 so it looks like a disability claim in the making. I encourage you to go after it but remember there will doubt be somebody pointing a finger back at you saying that you don't deserve it and that you're simply gaming the system. Now that the tables have turned how does it feel ?So now that you are going have to fall back on the very Democrat inspired social programs that you despise to play a major role in your well being go forward is something I fine amusing along with how you so conveniently left out of the conversation 2 costly wars and a nearly catastrophic financial collapse driven by the repeal of major banking legislation. By the way where is Fedex now that your health is going?. After all you were the one who expounded endlessly on the virtues of rampant and unbridled capitalism. In the eyes of Fedex because you're not management you are not deserving of retirement but rather simply be disposed of.

I'm not putting in for disability, I'm taking my pension from FedEx and moving overseas. And disability payments are part of what Social Security does. It's insurance, and I'm all for people getting it who need it. Your 50 trillion number is so far off that I'd have to doubt pretty much anything you say. And Obama gave half a billion dollars to Solyndra, which soon after folded. That's not chump change. And those two wars were mostly fought under Bush, so how is it that Obama's administration managed to more than double the debt, spending more than all previous presidents combined? Deny all you want, but what can't be denied is we're about broke. Hard choices have to be made, and thank God it won't be Bernie Sanders making them. And hopefully not Hillary. Uncle Sugar needs a long vacation.

Time magazine published the numbers courtesy of the Congressional Budget Office. It's called post war veterans obligations and money to prop up greedy banks while the nation was losing 2 million jobs a month thanks to Bush's recession that will have an impact for decades to come. Dodd Frank reinstated many of the rules that were contained in Glass Steagall but when I saw that Trump wants to repeal it along with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that Elizabeth Warren introduced and help to create I knew right away that if he gets in we are going back to 2009 if not 1929. Even people in the Republican party are publicly stating that he is a dangerous and divisive candidate . Many in Washington circles believe that the only reason he ran was to help insure that his friend Hillary Clinton would be elected and that the last thing he expected was to find himself in a position of actually winning . Now he is desperately trying to find people who know how to run a nation in the hope that everything will hold together for 4 years so he can get out in an honorable fashion .

Dodd and Frank were instrumental in getting banks to make millions of bad mortgage loans so don't put everything on Bush. The Bush administration turned down Solyndra so they contributed big money to Obama's campaign and voila! they're given 500 million bucks which disappeared shortly after. One of many examples of Obama blowing money which greatly contributed to the debt mess we're in. Meanwhile Obama can't handle a group like ISIS so tens of thousands are dead worldwide. If that's the leadership you want then vote Hillary. Trump isn't my choice but I'll take him over what we've had for 7.5 years.

Dodd Frank came about in the aftermath of the collapse restoring many of the necessary banking restrictions that were abolished when Glass Steagall was repealed. Likewise ISIS was born from the power vacuum created in the aftermath of the Iraq War , you know the one that Bush started using fabricated intelligence . No question that he was out to get Hussein because he tried to kill his Dad and started preparations almost immediately after taking office. One other thing. My Dad's brother was a Type 1 diabetic and Type 2 diabetes is rampant on my mother's side. One proven fact. Diabetic's have a 100% greater chance of getting cancer later in life than non diabetics which means that you are twice as likely to get cancer later on. In fact do you know what my insulin dependent diabetic mother died from ?.....brain cancer. That is why I hope that you leave the states as soon as possible. This way when you get it you'll be out the country and won't be able to use Medicare and Medicaid. Don't know how good the cancer care is in Bezerkastan but at least you won't be drawing upon U.S. resources and that has to help reduce the federal deficit . Thank you for your contribution to that effort.
