But the company decided to pay our sick days at 10 hours instead of 8 hours. Sounds great buy it removes on day of sick pay which I think is the companies goal

But the company coded out our sick day as option days last year. Many grievances were filed and they lost

Any state mandated benefit like paid sick leave would only increase your contractual benefit to that level and not be in addition to it. If you get 32 hours and the state mandates 40 you would not get 72.
