Healthcare when you Strike?

I don’t believe you. Show me proof. Thanks in advance

The last COBRA letter I saw from Teamcare was either $417 or $426 per week.

The COBRA payment is generally the same amount that UPS pays per week.

We are covered under Teamcare during a sanctioned strike.

Other plans, I do not know.

Unless the trustees decide to discontinue our insurance, not saying they will but it could happen.

If I remember correctly, while being "sold" on TeamCare during the last contract offer, the IBT boasted a sizeable surplus for this healthcare plan?

Twenty three months worth seems to ring a bell???

Yes, we went through this before.

Not going to happen if there is a short strike.

If it is a prolonged strike, not even saying it is going to happen, then we're all in trouble and insurance will be the least of our worries.

And they still hit us with a deductible.

And if there were to be a strike, I'm sure the settlement that gets us back to work will include repayment to Teamcare

Without seeing an actual cobra letter, that seems a little high.

It might have been under the company plan.... but I thought it was more like

$850 (?) for an entire 30 days. I'll check it out.

The biggest complaint I've ever heard about TeamCare, are from people that don't have a

family doctor and pursue basic health maintenance. (which costs less)

$10 co-pay for an annual physical ?

Twice annual dentist appointment for a teeth cleaning ?

The list goes on.

Some people were appalled, when they could (now) not go to the emergency room when

they "felt bad". Having to go to an Urgent Care facility wasn't a burden.... it was embarrassing.

You’re complaining about a deductible? Wow, We have fantastic FREE insurance, it’s mind boggling how out of touch with reality some of you are. Feel free to price insurance for yourself.

That 100/200 dollar (Team Care) deductible was in put in on the last year of the 2013 contract, before then we never had one.

Any guesses if it will ever be negotiated out?

It was never FREE insurance, the company is paying our individual Health and Welfare providers 415 to 450 a week.
