As far as I know, I have never known anyone in the private sector that has/had paid family leave. Seems like a distraction from far more important issues. Many Americans get 12 weeks unpaid family leave.

Some salaried employees get a kind of paid leave by the nature of how they are paid but the conditions can vary company to company.

when the canadian housing bubble pops (our house is worth 10x as much as it was 25 years ago, 3x as much as it was 10 years ago) i heard from an unreputable journalist that it might pop the american economic bubble.
