Who could have imagined that socialized healthcare would create a situation whereby euthanasia would be considered an ethical option for anyone? Oh yeah, conspiracy theorists.

The problem with that is socialized healthcare isn't a conspiracy. Just ignorant optimism that they can make it work. And now that the flaws are showing they're resisting admitting they were wrong and going back to a free market system.

the american system encourages the same. its more profitable to deny care.

its the number 1 cause of personal bankruptcy. not sure what is in canada. my dad pays alot for medicine though.

the solution is a politically active vigiliant citizenry for starters, without a doubt. and its probably not privatized healthcare either, because yours is the most expensive in teh world which puts you at a competitive disadvantage.

how many countries are socialized?

when youre talking about going to a privatized free market system, its not necessarily because it works, but because its profitable. privatized free markets can be worse. this is corporatism and it started late years of jimmy carter and margaret thatcher.

Well let me ask you, if one gives better care than the other is it a better system? Or is it more important that everyone get the same amount of care even if it means lesser quality?

we get equal care. its not based on how much money you make. every human is equal.

and btw your system is the most expensive in teh world but only mediocre results. so you should switch over to a country which has very good results and very good costs.

your system is based on risk is it not? so basically if you want to skateboard and you hurt yourself and youre poor, then you cant afford to skateboard anymore. canada system not like this. i broke my arm seadooing, it costs me $30 for the sling which was a partial tax write off im guessing anyways. surgery was almost next day but they said i didnt need it. physio at hospital was free, which is normally not the case for physio.

poverty kills dreams.

Well, we can still get a wheelchair without counseling to encourage us to punch out. It's not much, but It's something. But I agree with the alert citizenry. I get the feeling we are about to start seeing more alert and active citizens in the near future.
