This type of pompous post belongs right up there with Tie Dragon Hoax, etc. As many UPS'ers out there who cannot spell their own name, there are drivers and others in operations who are overqualified.

Over qualified for what? Over qualified to be a driver? I'm not sure I follow. I am on the driver's side nine times out of ten but most of them couldn't hold a job or make as much money as they do at UPS elsewhere. I think drivers, especially ones like yourself have over achieved and should be very grateful. I'm not knocking you by any means, but put a resume together and see if anyone comes beating down your door. I'm with Fracus on this one "don't look a gift horse in the mouth"

The same could be said to UPS. How many people can handle any job at UPS? It takes a special breed. Qualifications be damned.

It's a physical job, but I don't buy that it takes a special breed or anything like that. I haven't seen any job at UPS that anyone couldn't do assuming they didn't have any actual physical or mental disabilities.

Socks, I think he was talking about employees that are drivers that have degrees in various fields. I know of several in our center. I have 4 years of college, but no degree. And I believe that is what he was talking about being over qualified for delivery.

Jones, I have seen a lot of people that wanted the job, but not bad enough to put up with the long hours, the physical work, and the list goes on and on.

One shining example comes to mind. We had a driver who wanted both of his sons to get a job at UPS while they went to school. Easy enough, he is a minority, as are his sons, so getting them on was easy.

The first son lasted two days, the other less than 30. Both had ability, both were smart enough. But neither had what it took to stay employed. Which left the father the butt of a lot of jokes.

the wah wah?? thats all you do is boo hoo about people that do the job faster than you

Why would I care how fast someone else delivers their route?

If you want to run around like a fool just to prove how fast you are what difference would that possibly make to me?

I have many things in my life and many things that I do in my job that I am proud of. Being faster than someone else is not one of them. I feel sorry for you if this is all you have to hang your hat on.

We all think we have the worst job in the world until we are faced with not having it, then reality sets in.

The jobs are pretty good compared to what most other people of similar skill and ability have.

Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

The job you hate may be the best one you ever have.

I said "WE think we have the worst job until WE are faced with not having it..."

WE includes me, therefor it would not be considered pompous by anyone other than a person of substandard intelligence.

Placing myself on a higher level by suggesting your reply is of inferior substance appropriately demonstrates the proper use of the word pompous.

What are you talking about? Please tell me why you think I would care what time you get done?

How does that affect my day or my paycheck?

The wah wah was to the people complaining that the UPS driver job sucks and they could have something much better.

I have a degree and I still appreciate the job I have at UPS. It can be difficult at times but if someone wants to leave there are thousands of hard working part-timers that would love to have the job.

If you think I am crying about something please explain it to me. I can't wait to hear it.

As I have stated before. One could open up a dog sh t pu biz; put in 11 hours a day at a UPS pace and make as much as we do here.
