I was 55 on 5-15 2007. My 25th year was 9-15-2007. I hung it up Jan 1st 2008. I was not going to hang around like others. I wanted out. Working only 40 hours inside the difference in my pay and the pension was $660.00 per month. Many who get OT will feel the hit but you get used to it.
That comes out to working for $4.12 per hour for the month versus staying home and relaxing. I try to tell others that it is not worth working. If you want or have to work, get another job. People in the military do it all the time.
Glad I am out. I have gotten my 18th direct deposit and I told my wife that if I ever go into a coma or something like that, to pull the plug after the 1st. Or better yet put my brain in a jar and keep me technically alive so the checks keep coming. I Hope I live to 100 and collect for all the years I was mentally and physically challenged.:knockedout:
