I've show this thread negligence, and for that I apologize. I will try to insure that this dereliction of duty doesn’t happen again in the future. Not after I saw how much better this thread was, than that other 'what are you listening to' thread, I won't.

This thread is needed now, more than ever.

We're gonna start it back up with a triple threat of selections culled from Beck's classic album "Midnight Vultures". Hey, it's not Chris Daughtry, but we can try to enjoy it anyway, right? I think the :censored2: is nicey.
Beck - Nicotine and Gravy

Beck - Peaches and Cream

And for the Grand Finale, I cold step to you with a fresh pack of gum:
Beck - Debra

Some how I knew, you were looking for some-oh-ohhh-owohhhh.

The thread is back. Consider this a new beginning.

‘Your sister, I think her name is Debra...’

We're gonna jumpstart this bitch with three more selections this evening, to get you in the proper mood for relaxation. Not hateration or holleration - them :censored2:s are bunk nuggets - fake weed - no bueno. R-e-l-a-x-a-t-i-o-n is where it's at, what it's all about at a quarter after one on a Thursday, kidzzz.

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

And one day we will die
And our ashes will fly
From the aeroplane over the sea
But for now we are young
Let us lay in the sun
And count every beautiful thing we can see

Very beautiful, very serene, and very peaceful song. I enjoy this one very much. But there's a sinister underlying darkness to it. Beware.

Alabama Shakes - Hold On

Brittany's gonna bring you back up. This one's not quite as mellow, but it's the bomb, no doubt. We still have time to chill out and bring it on down to chinatown with the last song in tonight's series...and we will Wang Chung with that track momentarily - but let's pretend it's our Lord's birfday and listen to the Shakes preach for a few minutes, gangstas.

Modest Mouse - The World At Large

This one is so choice. Very beautiful and melodic lyrically, not to mention the fact, that it's just a really well written song all-around. Excellent selection to end with, and to ponder the lyrics, and their meaning(s) as you begin to get ready to drift off to sleep.

Another Isaac Brock/Modest Mouse masterpiece - this band is so underrated, even though they're rated pretty :censored2:ing highly, at least by critics in the know...either way, enjoy.

Lyrics:
Ice age, heat wave, can't complain
If the world's at large, why should I remain?
Walked away to another planet
Gonna find another place, maybe one I can stand
I move on to another day
To a whole new town with a whole new way
Went to the porch to have a thought
Got to the door and, again, I couldn't stop
You don't know where and you don't know when
But you still got your words and you got your friends
Walk along to another day
Work a little harder work another way
Well uh-uh, baby, I ain't got no plan
Well I float on, maybe would you understand?
Gonna float on, maybe would you understand?
Well I float on, maybe would you understand?
The days get shorter and the nights get cold
I like the autumn but this place is getting old
I pack up my belongings and I head for the coast
It might not be a lot but I feel like I'm making the most
The days get longer and the nights smell green
I guess it's not surprising but it's spring and I should leave
I like songs about drifters, books about the same
They both seem to make me feel a little less insane
Walked on off to another spot
I still haven't gotten anywhere that I want
Did I want love? Did I need to know?
Why does it always feel like I'm caught in an undertow?
The moths beat themselves to death against the lights
Adding their breeze to the summer nights
Outside water like air was gray
I didn't know what I had that day
Walk a little farther to another plan
You said that you did, but you didn't understand
I know that starting over's not what life's about
But my thoughts were so loud I couldn't hear my mouth
My thoughts were so loud, I couldn't hear my mouth
My thoughts were so loud, ah

Boom. The bomb tracks exploded in your :censored2:ing faces. You should have known better than to stick your head in my oven, brahs.

Tonight we're gonna keep it simple with a single artist for all three of my song postings, but play a guessing game as to the name of the artist while I compose the post.

One band, for all three song selections.

The name of the band is three words with a total of five syllables - one, two, two. The band is named after something we put on in the fall before we go to work. They play rock n' roll music. The leader/guitarist/singer/songwriter of this band's name rhymes with Dim Flames - even though both homeboy and his guitar spit hot fire, which is ironic, when I think about it. Though oddly appropriate, in a way. But I don't know that for sure, really. Just an educated guess, from a slightly more than casual fan, not a Dim Flames historian - I don't know the origin of the steady continuous fire, or who lit it, and continues to feed it - just that I like to sit there and enjoy it's warmth during the cool evening hours.

Venture a guess, whiles I rustle up the 3pc nugget for your order, and bring them to you in my next post...the :censored2: is easy, there's too many clues.

Plus nobody is following or attempting to play along with this riddle or thread, in general. But I digress, and I return back to the topic and the posting of the three songs...

The :censored2:ing band is My Morning Jacket.

My Morning Jacket - Run Thru

Just another bomb track, a guitar workout to melt your faces.

My Morning Jacket - Dondante

Haunting. Beautiful. Guitar absolutely shredded to bits.

My Morning Jacket - Librarian

Chill.

Now you're just flat out showing poor taste.

They've been making fantastic albums for 25 years.

Modest Mouse hasn't made a bad record in their whole career. Bottom line.

Look, here we are arguing about bands.

Kind of similar to folk arguing about religion, no?

I don't GAF about 'uncomfortable mouse', or 'wearing smoking jacket' band.

Listen to good band, like Led Zeppelin, sleep tight.

You talk too much, listen to good band, go to sleep.

Wilco - Impossible Germany

Wilco - You Are My Face

Two fantastic songs, from a masterwork of an album. Beautiful dueling guitars from Jeff Tweedy and Nels Cline with strong singing from the former as well, along with nearly perfect fills and flourishes from the rest of the band. The production and mixing on these two songs is indeed perfect.

Dave Grohl - My Hero & Everlong (live at Concert for Valor)

I remember watching this live on television and enjoying this performance quite a bit - It popped up in my YouTube recs, so I checked it out, and it was as excellent as I thought...the sound quality here isn't the greatest thing ever though.

Willie Nelson - The Scientist (Coldplay cover)

He really transforms this song. I enjoy this version very much, more than the original, which I don't particularly care for one way or the other.
