Sammie,
I live in Mississippi and take offense to your comments.
I've lived all over the country and have found that there are
less racial issues in this state than there are anywhere else
i've been. I understand that Mississippi has had a checkered past, but the people here have put that behind them. It's the rest of the country that can't seem to move on. The first
time I ever heard a derogatory term referencing Hispanics was
when I was in Colorado, (beaners). Sounds like all the hippies
that moved to the mountains are racist.
God Bless America and all of Gods children.

I am sorry, I meant no offense to you.

I could say the same thing about Tennessee. I've been all over the South and I can honestly say the South as a whole doesn't deserve the reputation it is given by the rest of the country. And I'm not only talking about the label that we are all racists down here. I'm also talking about the reputation that we are all toothless and shoeless.

I think the whole thing is crazy. Someone said it was a slow news week, they were right.
Normal people only knew vaguely of Imus, until now. Normal people only knew vaguely of Rosie until now. these people are more famous for being idiots than for being anything resembling credibility.
I truly dont think he meant anything racist. Hes an idiot. Nowhere did he say that we should hate blacks, he used language used in Rap, which most normal people dont know about anyway!!! It is such a non story. The girls on the team seemed great to me, and they had the grace in thier heart to forgive him, and thats the only people he insulted, and he shouldnt have, they are not in the public eye, they had just made it to second place, they were proud and should be. What some disc jockey said wasnt what the People said, its what he said in some half asleep moment he had, he always looks asleep. Must be the after effects of his former conditions.
I do not see racism where I am. Actually I never knew it still existed, until I started watching 24/7 news.

I am glad that Mississippi has eliminated racism.

One state down, 49 to go.

I was going to say "2 down, 48 to go", but:
KKK in East Tennessee

MyDD :: Scott Howell & Jim Davis: Racist Republicans at work in Tennessee

Oops, You Didn't Know We Were Watching Your Racist Asses, Did You?

Of course, all of these examples I found are about individuals and groups, and not everyone in Tennessee.

I'm sure there are at least a few members of the KKK in each and every state. They are ignored here. During their "rallies" they are mocked by both non-whites AND whites. So, I stand by my belief that Tennessee doesn't deserve it's reputation. And to think that Mississippi is rid of the KKK is extremely naive. I wish it were true but I am willing to bet they are plentifull there. The South, as well as other parts of the country, will probably have to wait many more years before they are even close to being elliminated.

As long as the constitution protects criminals they will not be elliminated. Unless there terrorists like Jessie Jackson and Alqeda Shrapton!!!!!

I watched Al Sharpton on Bill O'Reilly last night. If there's racism in this country, he helps to keep it alive.

He said for the Tea Party to leave the legacy of MLK alone. He talked like MLK is only a hero to black people. What a piece of work he is.

Who names a company Bo-Spanky ??

(NYP) — The Rev. Al Sharpton’s nonprofit paid him nearly $242,000 — even as it carried $1.6 million in debt, according to documents obtained by The Post.

In all, the controversial activist and his empire, including the National Action Network and two for-profit companies, were $5.3 million in the red, public records show.

Most of NAN’s money woes stemmed from more than $880,000 in unpaid federal payroll taxes, interest and penalties. It also paid more than $100,000 to settle two lawsuits, byproducts of the unpaid bills.

And it still owed $206,252 in loans to Sharpton’s for-profit Bo-Spanky Consulting Inc. and Sharpton Media LLC, the records show.
Sharpton drew a $241,732 salary and perks that included first-class or charter air travel, tax filings show. He owes the IRS $2.6 million in income tax, and nearly $900,000 in state tax.

The defunct Rev-Al Communications Inc. owes the state almost $176,000, and Bo-Spanky is $3,500 behind on state-tax liens.

I rarely agree with you folks, but Jesse and Al are race pimps of the highest order. I don't know why the African-American community puts up with these two self-appointed "leaders". They could (and should) do a lot better. There are plenty of articulate and intelligent true Black leaders out there that could replace these two ass-clowns.

Al Sharpton: In Alabama “It’s Against The Law To Organize Unions”…
Although that would be nice, in reality it’s a right to work state, the only ban is on mandating union membership as a condition of employment.

You think Jackson knows Wallace was a Democrat?

Via Weekly Standard:
Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Sunday, a flashy two-car motorcade pulled up in front of the Destiny Youth Plaza on the northwest side of Milwaukee. A crowd gathered around the first car to greet the Reverend Jesse Jackson, visiting Milwaukee to speak on behalf of Wisconsin workers and to rally voters to unseat Governor Scott Walker in the recall election here Tuesday. If anyone was bothered by the fact that Jackson arrived to speak on behalf of the working class in a Mercedes Benz S550 (starting price of some $100,000) and that his escort vehicle was a Cadillac Escalade ESV (starting at about $75,000), nobody showed it. [...]

They rose to their feet when a local teachers union head screamed that Walker is a serial liar. And they cheered wildly when Jackson compared Walker to segregationist Alabama governor George Wallace.

“So now you have a governor,” Jackson thundered. “Wallace did it in Alabama and now Walker in Wisconsin – trying to take back access to vote.”
