Just from skimming the article it appears that the rank and file went against their Union leadership suggestions and voted down the contract, very similar to what happened in the UPS 2018 contract.

Pretty critical of Biden...painted every politician as a money and power hungry elitists...

Can not argue with that...getting close to storming the bastilles anyone?

Hopefully we won't have that issue in 2023

Could you imagine if the Company closes shop with over 400,000 Union employees including the pilot’s union and mechanics... nationwide..if they could why not do it today ... why wait till 2023?

Would have to have a damn good reason to risk that kind of damage and publicity. Why kill the golden goose, profits galore, happy shareholders and they have even admitted they were underpaying their new hires by paying more than what the contract stated.

Kellogg said it would now move forward with plans to start hiring permanent replacements for the striking workers.

So...? Permanent scabs?
I will never buy a Kelloggs cereal, poptart, sunshine crackers, Keebler stuff or Cheezit until those :censored2:s work it out with the union. My kids are pissed but oh well.

You all will be healthier for it lol.

Besides there are a lot of the other brands that you can use with the same sugar content.

Your kids will not notice the difference...

It is a good thing in the long run to try to eat more bran with natural sugars, raisins, blueberries, and honey. Yogurt with granola and berries is my favorite.

Pretty easy to imagine a lot of things...

Easier to imagine waking up one day and we are sold to Amazon....

Or being flushed through Bankruptcy.

This Kellogg business of replacing their Union employees has to be calculated, they probably had it planned prior to the negotiations. Maybe they see a shift of collective bargaining legislation coming out of Washington that would make it impossible to close shop.

The rest of the companies and corporations are probably sitting on the sidelines watching...why would these company labor executives want to end up being a “poster child” if they start to lose their shareholders. They probably saw a weakness or a disconnect with the Union’s leadership, it is funny how the proposed Kellogg’s contract language mirrored our own two tier system, it is like these companies are playing from the same playbook.

"John Deere workers approve new contract proposal; UAW ends strike" John Deere employees approve third contract proposal, ending their five-week strike

That second JD contract proposal looked good, better then what we are getting with the 2018 agreement. Remember that we officially voted down the UPS 2018 contract by the same percentage as JD before the third one passed.

UPS made more profits and showed more growth than JD last year.

An possible example of what a post COVID contract will look like...have to see in 2023.

They've been shutdown since October. Seems like they were already using non union workers somewhere and just don't care about these factories.
