Klinski: Part-time job at UPS was rewarding but insanely difficult - Argus Leader

I couldn't help but laugh as I snapped the photo on my final day of my seasonal part-time job. I had just started my shift in a sea of brown boxes when the red graffiti caught my eye: "This job is (expletive)," it said.

For the past seven weeks, I've worked as a package handler for UPS to save some extra cash and pay off some bills. Dave Ramsey would be proud.

It's been quite the change of pace for me, as I'm normally stuck at a desk at my day job at the Argus Leader as a digital news editor.

I can honestly say I've never worked as hard in my life than I have at UPS — at least physically. I also haven't been in as good of shape. As an Amazon Prime member, I've had hundreds of packages delivered to my door over the past few years, and the journey those packages take rarely has crossed my mind. But now I can't help but appreciate the people who help make it happen.
