It is a shame that we must have tension in the workplace dealing with the pressures of doing your rte then listening to the crap the next day about performance. Drive for 20 -30 years then maybe you would feel the way I did before I retired.. Guys like you jump into management because you couldn't do the job or you have an ego problem.

I just hope UPS survives so my pension checks don't bounce. I have seen Ups sink lower and lower in peoples opinions over the years, and I blame management for it.. The Drivers made this company..Not the Knuckleheads pushing charts and #'s.. Charts and #'s don't deliver pkgs and represent UPS..We Do !! And I DID!!!!!!!!!!!!

im at ups almost 20 years, and it is sad. I never seen people so afaid! we are all grown ups stong men and women. lets start having pride in ourselves. Do not take harassment from anybody,dont stand for disrespect. when i first started the older drivers took me under their wing. Now i dont know if have the people with over 20 years even know drivers names. The militancy is gone from most drivers. lets stop bitching and do the job exactly the way they want. It is hard to get used to doing everything by the book,but we have to, we need to realize that we have say 80 drivers for 3 sups and a manager. burry the with their own rules. You know ive noticed that management sticks together no matter what. no more me,me,me.

I think this was back in the late 80's. Most recently after I came off the road I was at the customer counter for 8 years. When I was hired in 81 I had a few tatoos on my arms. It was probably my last year at the counter when Tatoos were the target of drivers.
I was told to cover mine up..I did.. I taped a womens monthly pad on my arm at the counter..I busted them back.. It was covered.. When things got slow in the bldg they have to busy themselves busting us....

I was hired in 81 as well at UPS.I remember the crazy management.I remember we had this one guy who use to keep a tally of all the drivers he fired.I also remember when they started cracking down on tattoos.All the senior guys had them.It got real ugly.I left UPS in 99 and went to Fedex.I often wonder what working at UPS is like today.
