if we enter a cashless society (god help us) then that wont matter anyways.

btw people spending money pay down debts doesnt create jobs. there would be more jobs if people spend money instead on consumer goods.
Those people paying down debts are the same people who bought too many consumer goods!at some point.

all you gotta know is the difference between me and you is that you want more centralized control via corporations and a few capitalists making all the decisions, and i want less centralized control or rather decentralized via worker coops.

Exactly the opposite.

Socialism = centralized control

So you must be a closet capitalist.

you cant think for yourself.

UPS has 400,000+ employees taking orders from how many people ;)
walmart employs 2,000,000 employees taking orders from how many people?

thats a number that will give small communist countries a run for their money and thats centralized control, a type which you apparently love :)

You just refuse to comprehend that centralized economies are socialist.

Which are very inefficient and usually fail.
i dont disagree government owning and controlling the economy is centralized but its by no means the only type of centralized economy.

btw, when the big capitalists fail they also get money from the tax payers.

sounds like centralized communism and centralized corporate capitalism have alot more in common than we may be aware of.

Anyway you look at this it is so wrong. Too big to fail, my rear end.

and i was thinking the reason these corporations get bail outs the way centralized communism gets bailed out by tax payer money is that the corporations are so big and centralized.

your not gonna see a small corporation get bail outs because its relatively less centralized.

another example of centralization of the american economy (and world economy) is that so few people own and control everything aka inequality.

Socialism = centralized control

Being there is both a left and right socialism these days, bringing this up within a 2 party paradigm is a bit like the pot calling the kettle black. Both sides have their own heinous forms of socialism that they want to use the State to enforce on everyone else.

There is so much more that this subject could be discussed upon but I doubt this audience is interested because it's just easier to throw the talking points of others at each other and get no where.

What the hell was this thread about anyway?

Come on, how is this thread any different from any other thread once you get beyond the first page of posts. And on some it doesn't last that long.

As far as jumping the rails, at times you've been a shining light in this forum towards those ends and I'm betting you've been quite proud of yourself when you do it!

in the chris hedges interview above, they mention how top government education officials impose one type of education for everyone else, and give their children a very different education.
