The rumor up here is that UPS is doing away with the GO in Hudson, NH. I agree with UpState that a bit of candor (paraphrased) shoud be used in regards to people losing their jobs...

Is the district office in Hudson empty now?? Or are they waiting their assignments or job selectioin

His responses indicate some young kid who is still wet behind the ears. Probably a part time steward.

Much to his dissapointment i don't see any firing squads in this round. Some of the folks that were in eliminated staff jobs will have to make adjustments into new positions for them. I agree with your overall assessment about people.
I think its terrible what we are doing to the admins. The admins in our old district offices are going from 56 jobs down to 27. The selection process is presently taking place. constant conference calls for them to add to their anxiety.
yesterday in the middle of one of those admin calls they actually had the guts to wish everyone a happy admin day (secretary day?)

Just unbelievable. Casey has to be rolling over in his grave.

I've been with the company for quite a while and I used to be a very proud employee. I loved being a part of UPS. That's all gone now. It's changed, and not for the better. It can't always just be about money and profits but when the former CFO is now running the show, that is all it's about.......money.

We all need to remember that these are people not unlike you or I who may very well be without a job through no fault of their own. I wonder how long and hard you would be laughing if you came in tomorrow morning and were told that your services were no longer needed.

I still find it hard to believe that you are a shop steward.

Most of the supes we are familiar w/ dont deserve good treatment. They treat their people like garbage(bad supes) and they will reap what they sow. I only feel bad for those supes that are actaully good people and choose to keep their integrity(good supes) in their job. The bad supes dont deserve their job so I dont care. If I performed my job w/ the lack of integrity that display I wouldnt deserve nor would I still be employed so why should they? By the way I do know of 2 supes in my building that would fit the good supe criteria, so im not a supe assassin. I welcome the good ones. Please transfer to my center.

I don't want to see anybody lose their jobs. but if someones throwing stones and breaks your glass house; it leave little room for sympathy.
I have seen hourly's with new born's fired, people have to fight for bereavement leave, etc.

Kindness breeds reciprocity alot of what happens at UPS reaps what is sows

I to have both sups and managers that I like buy they are far and few between the ones with integrity don't last or get beat on by upper management that they end up not giving a damm.

By no means, do I rejoice on the misfortune of someone losing his/her job, its a move that has been in the works for a while.

I just hope that we lose the bad apples and not the good ones due to our political system we have in place!!!

Yes we do have a few good Managers and full-time sups, I hope they can survive. However, for the ones who have been hateful, vengeful for unknown reasons against an entire group, and literally laughed in our faces, downright giddy when we were told our 22.3 jobs were being dissolved and we would be on split shifts ; "what goes around, comes around".

Yeah, but the problem is that the 'bad ones' are simply just good enough, or know who's butt to kiss to keep hanging around. The best on-road I worked for spent the shortest amount of time in our center. The worst on-road?.... that's right, he is still around. And, no, his #'s aren't the reason why. He is simply too much of a train wreck to put anywhere else so they keep him where he is.

Will we have to wait another month for the supervisor round? Then another month for specialist/tech/admin?

From people representing four different districts, I have heard a pretty common understanding that the supervisor t/w's will come in the middle two weeks of May.
