Inordinately Right
If you want real privacy, the tor network is where it's at.... a few proxy chains helps too.

Sadly, the wild west days of the internet are coming to an end. I don't even bother worrying about privacy online anymore, the government is spying on you whether you like it or not.... they're in the offices of your internet service provider. Use a "private" search engine if it makes you feel better, but it's really just the illusion of privacy.

Email might be on the verge of a radical makeover. And the NSA is not going to like it.

No NSA Spying on the IMF or World Bank

Responding to Reuters, a top Obama administration official said, “the United States is not conducting electronic surveillance targeting the headquarters of the World Bank or IMF in Washington.” However, the official would not say whether the NSA had spied on the entities in the past.

Spying isn't about defense and military preparedness, Germany was not on the verge of a massive East US coast invasion but instead it's economic. From the same article.

Top officials with US intelligence agencies have admitted economic espionage in the past, but a former senior US intelligence official said the Obama administration has put more effort than previous administrations into gathering economic data.

Author Of The PATRIOT Act Goes To EU Parliament To Admit Congress Failed, And The NSA Is Out Of Control - Tech Dirt

It's already strange enough that the author of the PATRIOT Act, Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, has come out strongly against the NSA's mass spying, said that James Clapper should be fired and prosecuted, and introduced sweeping new legislation that would significantly curtail the NSA's activities. If you've followed civil liberties issues over the past dozen years or so, Sensenbrenner used to be very much in the camp of folks like Rep. Mike Rogers and Senator Dianne Feinstein -- seen as carrying water for the intelligence community (and industry). The change of heart (even if he claims the original PATRIOT Act was never meant to allow this stuff) is quite impressive.

Even so, it's perhaps even more incredible to see that Sensenbrenner has now gone over to the EU Parliament to admit that the NSA is out of control and needs to be reined in.

You ignore reality. Hopey Changey was supposed to eliminate all ot this abuse !!! He has not only continued it ---he has made it more intrusive.

The left will spout about two face Hannity ---when they do the exact same ---It was very bad under Bush ---but it is o/k with Obama.

The anti war crowd also has bee very quiet over Obama's drone war in civilian areas.

Tech giants' demand for NSA reform 'a major game-changer', advocates say - The Guardian

Senior figures behind efforts to curtail the powers of American spy agencies have seized on the decision by the world’s largest tech companies to call for radical surveillance reform, saying the unexpected intervention is a potential “game-changer”.

In an open letter published jointly on Monday, eight tech giants, including Apple, Google and Facebook, said disclosures by the National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden revealed that basic rights and freedoms were being undermined.

The companies – which also include Microsoft, Yahoo, AOL, LinkedIn and Twitter, and have a combined value of $1.4tn – called for widespread changes that, if enacted, would end many of the current programs through which governments spy on citizens at home and abroad.

"This is a major game-changer,” Leslie Harris, president of the Center for Democracy and Technology, an advocacy group, told the Guardian.

Island, Would you prefer boots on the ground over drone strikes?

What parts of Obama's agenda has he been able to actually put in place? Obstruction is easy, as is complaining.

Also. is English your first language? I have a hard time following your reasoning, and assume it's language, not intelligence.
