I heard from second hand information that the business reattempt plan wasn't to provide better service per se but to bust courier "falsifying" for a phantom reattempt. Second hand said they were hoping they could "thin out" excess. Food for thought.![]()
I'm pretty much identifying myself here, but don't care at this point. I was supposed to take a rt that had a new shipper shipping 450 boxes a day. Before I arrived mgr called me and said plans have changed. Supposed to have had lost that account the day after it started. I suspect the mgr talked to my mgr and learned I wanted hours so told me that so as to both get me interested in taking transfer and to see if I really wanted to work. But a topped out courier got killed on the job, pulled out in front of tractor trailer a couple of weeks ago. So I was asked to do his route instead. It's a busy route, and mgr told me that courier grossed $80k on it last year. He supposedly got done with heavy extended rt early, drove back to station area to do pickup rt and was DG specialist staying late. And volunteered Saturdays to boot. This has been confirmed by other couriers, he was wanting alot of hours. BUT,.....and I'm really not wanting to say anything bad about him because apparently this was a hell of a good guy and courier, and literally everyone on rt really loved him, but it looks to me that in order to get his break in, make it back to do pickup rt etc he was most likely releasing pkgs while delivering others, then dropping them off on his break. I've done alot of rts over the years, posted good numbers, and this rt isn't adding up. Mgr asked me about being a DG specialist but I'm not interested. And I think if I do the rt right I won't be able to get back in time to do pickups and most likely mgr won't be happy. All things considered mgr seems like a pretty good guy, but he does seem like he's under pressure. Heard senior mgr pretty tough lady.
