Next Contract vote...

The union should bring in iPads and make teamsters vote, we all know how ups does this for their survey. We can get a near 100% vote if teamsters would vote at work, before or after a PCM.

You part of the #MeToo generation that can't be bothered to pick up a phone or click an internet page to vote?

You want it brought to you?

We're all doomed!

What on God's green earth makes you think the union wants a higher participation rate?

The union (meaning the leadership) got exactly what it wanted except in a very few locals!

How would you "make" them vote ?

we all know how ups does this for their survey.

If you are being paid to do it.... why not take a company survey ?

It's bad enough, that people couldn't mark a ballot and put the pre-paid envelope

in the mailbox. Now, the IBT made it easier with the online convenience....

And people still complain.

The IBT made it so easy.

But yet, the members dropped the ball by not voting.

The company knows it's employee's.

Afraid of management.... and their own shadow.

Why do you think this is so?

Couldn't be because there are very, very few who honestly believe the union has their backs?

BUG, you can dance around the issue all night or keep your head buried in the sand. It still does not change the fact that there is a large number of union members who believe the IBT is in bed with the company and would sell them out if it kept the IBT in the good graces of the company.

Just saying!

Next vote will probably have even worse turnout.
The stupidest thing the Teamsters ever did was tell all of us who voted that our vote is irrelevant.

I am so looking forward to 2021 and finding a good Teamsters Presidential candidate who I can support. Hint: It won't be Hall.

Nice, get the company to pay the membership to vote on the clock. Then you could claim difficulty making a decision and drag it out for 20 minutes or so like certain folks do for the ERI... I'm sure the company would have no problem with that.
One question, if the company is paying for folks to vote, would you be cool with the pcm be a vote Yes propaganda speech before they go into the polls?

This! The next turnout will have no higher than a 33% turnout no matter how easy it is to vote. When the union seems almost happy they were able to push through a contract, one that had more vote against than for mind you, one has to get the feeling of why should I even care. It’s obvious the union didn’t.

How is a non-vote.... counted as a yes vote ?
Because the default for not passing the magic 50% turn out is Yes unless 2/3 of those voting reject. The 56% of those that didn't vote sealed the fate of the 54% that voted no.
The Teamsters said this is because the 50,000+ that voted no isnt enough leverage to get a better deal? I call bull:censored2:.
It was not last and final and UPS would be royally screwed if 50,000 of us were to strike. Those that didnt vote were for all intensive purposes yes votes by default.
