UPS is not paying double time for hours over 60 in our area, has anybody else run into this problem?
Are they supposed to? Please post the link to the contract language that covers this.
Article 26 section 5
Any regular or Article 22.4 package car driver who volunteers or is forced to work over sixty (60) hours in a week pursuant to this paragraph will be compensated at double-time for those hours.
They where trying 2 play games on our pay scale for last Saturday’s work, saying it wasn’t a 6th punch ( amuse of the Holiday) and paying us at our regular rate
Actually, they were right-----the holiday does not count toward hours worked.
I can see their point, but the BA went in and got us the time and a half rate.
If it's not your regular work day here it's considered an extra punch and you get time and a half.
It was a short discussion I guess and we prevailed with the higher wage.
You are lucky you have a good BA. Too many are company yes men.
I'm glad it worked out for you guys.
DOUBLE TIME OR NOTHING
that’s strange , I didn’t see any seasonals in last Saturday lol
File a grievance. Stop being a union boy and be a union man.
Any word on the union agreeing to the 70 hr rule ?...they want every driver in Saturday “ time worked”
Hahahaha yea here either, no pvd drops too.
It's not Friday yet. It's like when you're going to fire someone. You wait till Friday to give them the bad news so that it doesn't disrupt productivity.
They don't want to give drivers a heads up because they might start stretching their day out longer.
everyone needs to demand 8 hrs , CRUSH MANAGEMENT IN DOUBLE-TIME
I've been trying to get people to do that on black Friday for years. It never happens.
