Something similar happened to me once. Map showed a road going through but didn't. The ground was frozen but just starting to thaw as I was coming back out and melted just enough for my tires to sink in the mud.

I started out that way. Man I would burn those rural routes up. And to this day put me in a p57 and I can get around some back roads. But I had a really bad accident early in my career and I don't do nothing crazy no more.
