You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
My bulkhead door is open most of the day. I'm sure if the package cars didn't have Telematics, the UPS drivers would leave theirs open too like they used to.

If that driver is caught wit his truck on and he's not in it, that's an automatic termination.
Nope. When I got in my accident having the bulkhead closed might have saved me. It was dented 2 feet forward.

Yeah but when the horse died in the middle of your route...trying to find a carrier pigeon to notify the office was a pain in the :censored2:

Actually for the most part we took care of ourselves. For 2/3rd's of my career there wasn't any sense in calling the center from 11:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. because NOBODY was there. When I first started in 71 for a couple of years our center manager took care of 2 centers that were 50 miles apart. He lived in the "other town" so we only saw him maybe 2 days a week (never Friday or Monday). He was our ONLY management person. Our senior driver was designated "Lead Driver" and was in charge of making sure all packages went out for delivery. For this he got 10 cents more an hour. Once we left the building we were our own boss.

How much did you make per hour in 1971?
