I don't think anybody "wants" to go to an old folks home. My Mom, Dad and Father-in-Law were for the most part here today and gone tomorrow so we didn't have to deal with them getting super old. Its a different story with my Mother-in-Law. She is fairly healthy at 90 but shouldn't be on her own. We just got her into a assisted living apt at a local old folks home. Time will tell how she is going to adapt to being there. After visiting the place a dozen times in the last couple of weeks helping her get moved I'm ready to move in myself. (they even have a happy hour everyday)--- BYOB but they provide the snacks.
That sounds nice. Maw maws place was weird about alcohol. I remeber one old lady always asking where she could get some beer. I heard homes in Ireland have pubs and shops built into them. As long as you're part of it, that's good. Some people just live too far away, and some don't care. But you obviously seem very loving.
