Last year, I got sick two days before Christmas and was in the hospital. It still bugs me I wasn't able to cross the finish line. Those that would call off out of spite disgust me.

We had a driver who's Mom passed away last weekend, i have no issues with extra work because of that. Like you said, when they call out to "screw UPS" they are screwing us.

My first years of delivering during peak it was like the walking wounded the last few days. Everyone was banged up and beat down but still came in to get the packages delivered.


... that was when people cared.

That's different. We also have a driver whose mother just passed away. I'm talking about the guys who call in to throw a tantrum. They're just screwing over their fellow drivers because their stuff will get delivered.

I actually AM expecting a package today, and i ordered something amazon prime yesterday, but i don't think it's going to make it. There is an amazon building about 2 miles from my house. I could get lucky.

When, I was in PC, We delivered a LOT of those fruitcakes. Some days I might have 30 or 40 of them. They were DR, and man, would those things sail! lol
