Unfortunately you don’t help others. YouTube videos don’t help battered families, feed, clothe, and give shelter to the homeless.
I watch local news in the morning. It helps with weather, road closure, has a consumer advocate, it has helped with the direction of our board. Has answered questions on numerous stories they have run, gotten us in contact with several agencies, state legislators and the governors office on certain issues. I don’t need someone to think for me.
Why should I waste time and effort on a protest? [where people can get hurt, costs taxpayers resources, and everyone goes home with no results] when I can pick up the phone and have something settled/answered by the end of the week? Meanwhile I have the time to tackle other issues.
I just recently got a verbal commitment with the wife of an old friend. He passed away in 2017. She has been threatening litigation on some items I have, that she believes to be part of his estate. She gave a large donation and is allowing me to auction off said items. This never would have happened if I had gone public and humiliated her.
if by picking up teh phone you mean calling your congressman, then thats very good.
protest is partly how you take back the power. you dont do it because you have no idea how power works and have no faith anyways.
someone is thinking for you whether you know it or not. local tv news is a pretty big waste of time.
youtube videos likely give all the necessary information to free ourselves from govt and corporations.

That’s why you don’t know what’s going on around you. You only know what someone else thinks is going on around you. I call legislators, mayors, and governors. For example, I would look pretty stupid protesting mandatory sick leave and medical leave.
