Whilst watching tv recently (Gordon Ramsays kitchen nigtmares USA & ER ) I noticed in the back ground UPS vans, which brings me to ask have you ever inadvertantly appeared on the TV?

I myself was moved on by the local news crew so I wouldn't be in shot

UpstateNYUPSer now I remember where I know your screenname from it was on TV but not on Cops but rather on Dateline when you showed up to have sex with an underage boy only to find a reporter and camera waiting for you, good to see that you have put all of that behind you, gotten out on parole and now are a productive member of society.

Had to move my package car off the street during a movie shoot. Clint Eastwood in ABSOLUTE POWER. They closed the whole road down for about 3 1/2 hrs and it ended up being a 15 second part in the movie!

Most of the time when you get a good look at any companies logo or vehicles ( in movies)it's not an accident. Advertising agencies are paid good money to get a company noticed, including subliminally.
I'd love to see a news crew try to move me out of their shot. They can either deal with me being there or wait till I'm gone.

OK - I am dating myself I know....but I drove back in the '70's.

My route was right next to 20th Century Fox. I was on Starsky & Hutch and CHIPS. Sometimes I would stop and watch them film. Occasionally, I would get a split for 20th Century and have too drive on the route. Two famous authors lived on my route, Ray Bradbury (Sci Fi author) and Alex Haley (Roots).

I 've been told that the Big Brown Truck can be seen in some adult films:surprised:. But I wouldn't know anything about that kind of stuff:anxious:.

trplnkl, it is called "product placement" and it is as you stated, companies paying to have their products, services, or logo incorporated in to a movie, commercial, TV show or magazine article. The most widely known use of product placement was the 2 hour FedEx commercial, also known as "Castaway".

Don't know if any of you watch "Cash Cab" on Discovery channel. Man, UPS must be footing the bill for that whole show.

If you watch "Good Morning America" when they have the camera pointed at the hosts and the window is behind them it seems like at least one or two UPS vehicals will drive by.

The same can be said about the fed-ex truck on the "Today" show.

Wow! You are old! I was 9 or 10 when those shows were on. So did you ever pick up Haley's plagerized Roots manuscripts?
