PEAK?

Call me crazy but for the last 7-8 years I've made more money in the summer during non peak times. Peak is just a saying anymore it's not like it used to be for express

Seattle is not the middle of BFE where the mail is delivered in some guy driving a Taurus. There are four choices at the moment for Amazon delivery. USPS, UPS, Contractors, and FDX. Once you leave a populated area... typically the contractors disappear. Amazon will always be with one of those three... and there's no way that Amazon would put their eggs in one basket.

Well... that is explainable. Express and ground are two different companies. Now, why ground and HD both showed up was weird unless the ground system won't reassign a "ground" package to HD.
I'm purely speculating. I have no clue why fedex up here has zero amazon. I realize this is not a nationwide issue. I'm just saying is this a sneak peak into what the future holds?

Ground has seen Amazon packages vapor out
Ground will lose the Amazon Acct. Jan 1 its its in the works. Not sure how that will effect express but in my opinion it ill be big as well. October was a trial if you remember October Amazon was way off and UPS had the ground. Seen Amazon with fedex ground labels covered up with ups labels. Amazon wanted fedex to move big items @ smartpost rates. Fred said no way. hope Fred and his boys have something else lined up or the layoffs will start in January or in FedEx terms DISPLACED There was noway for Amazon to not use us in 2016 but that will change in2017

Ever wonder why you didn't get a turkey?? LOL 40,000 express employees X lets say $10.00 a turkey. They need that money for bottom dollar in the 3rd quarter earnings report that will be in March. Losing Amazon they need all the cash flow they can find.

Isn't the decision on whether to bestow the masses with a delicious holiday ham made on a district by district basis?

If you think FDX has not been aware of this for a while, you are new to the party. Our director told us last year that Amazon has big plans and we are not in them. At that time Amazon was not taking any phone calls from FDX. New Amazon warehouse going up right next to airport. They will be using our old 747 parking spot at the ramp. They are having people trained on the 767 as we speak as they are currently leasing 20 of them from ATSG with that number expected to grow.

We have one route at the RT that does Amazon. He will go back to his old duties if Amazon disappears. In DGO it will probably be harder felt. Though at one time SDR service at a local station was comprised 75% amazon, which has been falling the last year and FDX has adjusted right along with it. Its not like we are getting all the Amazon and then one day they pull the account from us. Its happening, but its not happening overnight. Its slow enough where our business model can be adjusted as things change. It make be a shock to the frontline employees, but this isn't new news to the big picture people.

Fedex keeps stating they are not worried if Amazon pulls the plug..well a company that is worth more money than ups and fedex combined and is starting to duplicate the same system that we have should be a problem..If Amazon rolls out a delivery company and starts drivers at $20/hr with benefits how many drivers at fedex do you think would look into working for Amazon.

It would be just delivery too, maybe pup some returns. And mostly residential.

Let them start building sort and support facilities and maybe they will be a valid threat in a few years.
