Posted start times for Saturday extra work

Our center uses regular air drivers and Monday through Friday drivers to fill in the shortage for NDA delivery. They have the posted start time up Friday night. Drivers come in at their sch'd start time but they are called Saturday morning due to late air for the day. Some are already on their way to the center, some maybe already arrived. They are told this is extra work and is not to be paid waiting unlike a normal work day. Also would inclement weather(act of god) change them being paid from their start time until they are done including wait time etc? Central reg, MI rider.

If you work on a Saturday it’s a sixth punch and an easy eight hours on OT ( based on your supplement). Your choice for Saturday. Sixty six dollars an hour is pretty sweet.

It should be extra work if they don’t have 8 hours available, it still allows volunteers to earn some OT. But they should still stick to a start time, usually announced 48 hours in advance. Someone needs to straighten that mess out a little.
