Uber gets to increase prices to people wanting to share a car, while taxi drivers are in strike because trump has banned citizens or dual nationals of certain countries which have probably been bombed by america not too long ago.

free markets are supposed to be free movement of labor and capital, not just capital. so when you restrict people youre betraying the principles of a free market. not to say you shouldnt run background checks on people.

It's not a right. It is a basic tenet of American exceptionalism. Our country is great because of immigration. Nope, it's really not. You think 100 years ago the immigrants weren't coming from what would today be described as 3rd world countries?

In fact if you look at the numbers, today's numbers are very similar in regards to percent of the population as it was 100-150 years ago.

People from all over the world want to come here and create a better life for themselves. Immigrants built this country. How many small businesses are owned by immigrants? Agreed, but with a caveat. Full assimilation like Europeans did. A tower of Babel situation isn't going to work. There's so many not willing to even learn English. You want to come to America you become an American. What's the point of coming here but adhering to everything about the culture you left behind? That's what people have a problem with.

The desire to assimilate is just as strong today as it ever was. Assimilation is inevitable by the second generation, it's not even worth talking about.
