You have a rural route and the FT courier who does your area on Saturdays keeps coding pkgs as closed/unsecure location because they just don't want to do them, adding time to your long Mondays.

Before anyone says it, Fred S, Obama, Bush, Trump, etc., all have nothing to do with this, so save it.

ok, if it was on HD, i would talk to management, not the courier, because he or she knew that is falsifying records

but, you're paid by the hour! so suck it up, buttercup and pick up his or her slack & don't forget to thank that courier for giving you more work on mondays

if you're sick of picking up his or her slack, then with express... goto that courier first and have a chat that the following stops were open on saturdays . if it pisses u off that much after they don't follow your instructions, then goto management and narc on that lazy SOB

i know some drivers do the same thing if the orion trace, roads, dra, vision, or whatever you call it tries to make them go through dirt roads to get to that customer's home when it really was someone else's route area

(misplot or misload or misrouted to wrong route).

they'll use DEX 007 (customer not in) and falsify or honestly use DEX012 (misrouted to wrong area~ customer will only see "scheduled for another business day") or just honestly use 027 (didn't attempt) and hopefully leave a note on the service cross as to why they didn't try to service that parcel

It will be fine

I'd talk to the driver. I've had similar issues when my Saturday guys don't attempt anything that's a business and just code it as business closed on Saturday. My discussions are different since I'm their boss, but after you explain they are screwing the Monday guy they typically understand.

If all else fails, just tell the customers to call FedEx and complain. It sucks when tracking data shows out for delivery, you are available to receive the delivery, and no attempt is made.

area knowledge plays a big part with ground/hd operations... the subcontractors know who are lazy and who will uphold their end on a saturday, even if it means it's gonna be a longer day.

hopefully, they can get most of these stations to go co~location soon so we can divert the "known closures to ground" for a monday attempt instead of taking those boxes for a ride on a saturday. in exchange, we can take some of their resis stops if we're too light on a saturday and can do reattempts on some DEX 007s that they had on a friday.

i know my local businesses and had trained a few to have those outdoor plastic cargo bins by their receiving areas that have cameras trained on them & to fill out a driver release form with Fredex to allow couriers to leave their stuff in those bins.

Area knowledge, or lack thereof, has nothing to do with this. It's flat out laziness.

We have a driver who used to pull this crap all the time. We nicknamed him "4 O'Clock Rock" as he was always in before everyone else yet brought back more NSN's and NSS's than anyone else. Rather than go to mgt we decided to use "tough love" to get him to change his ways. It took some time but he doesn't pull this crap anymore.

To the OP-----pull the courier aside and let him/her know in no uncertain terms that you are tired of his/her crap and that you will talk to your SM if it persists.

Orion----whether we are salary or paid by the hour is irrelevant.

Yeah, that's what's going to happen tomorrow. There was a confrontation today, where the courier flat out lied and said they didn't remember the package. Tomorrow will be the warning before going to management. This happens a lot from this courier and it adds work to two routes on Monday that are already loaded down.

If it were me I would track the package(s) and have him/her try to justify their exception code(s).

that lazy SOB will give me more hours! more $ if paid by the hour... express management will question why am i having longer mondays, then that's when you spill the beans and say that saturday courier is lazy to deliver those known businesses or stops that were open.

if you're paid per diem or flat salary, i'd narc that SOB

OP, u missed my part about me mentioning that your courier is lazy & falsifying on my 2nd post?

Actually, I didn't read the whole thing because most of it was about Ground and doesn't apply to this situation.

good luck to your problem of earning more money for his/ her laziness

hope management at your station will do the right thing... but, if they also suck donkey balls, just keep on truckin!

PS: remind that courier of "the purple promise" as seen on my other thread

You just don't get it.

It has nothing to do with the extra money and everything to do with being stuck to run off chasers because the Saturday courier was too lazy to do it.

I used to have a country run and could always tell when one of my cover drivers was too lazy to run off a chaser. Our PM clerk also knew and would simply put them back out for delivery.
