You just don't get it.

It has nothing to do with the extra money and everything to do with being stuck to run off chasers because the Saturday courier was too lazy to do it.

I used to have a country run and could always tell when one of my cover drivers was too lazy to run off a chaser. Our PM clerk also knew and would simply put them back out for delivery.
Exactly! And that doesn't even include the fact that customers pay extra for Saturday delivery and aren't getting their packages until Monday.

oh i do get it, if the lazy courier is habitually falsifying due to his/her lazyiness, then he or she should go through the "progressive displine process" or get terminated for falsffication ~integrity issue.

if the shipper paid extra for Saturday delivery, they knew that those people will be there on a Saturday to receive it, yes? so they get a refund if they track it?

OP already started the process by talking to that courier and warning him/her that it's gonna go through management next. apparently, management is turning a blind eye if this is on-going... does that courier have kneepads and visits the office more often the other couriers?

so, good luck with whatever happens~ it's now on management's hands and just WAD from then on to see what they're gonna do if that lazy SOB keeps on doing that

i have a neigboring route that does that to me. if i'm gonna run chasers for some of his stops, i'll ask my subcontractors for extra pay to do so. he'll gladly throw some money at me or pay for a complaint down the road for his lazy DEX 007s

I can't/won't vote cuz I don't deal with this but I do agree with the possibility of lackadaisical management. They probably leave early on Saturday and don't give a rip. "Code it up."

talk to the courier first, then take it to management. Let the courier decide if they want to straighten out... if not, then bark up the tree.

Is this a business or an apartment building?

I'd offer the SAT CRR assistance, ask if he/she would like to borrow your map book to make copies, ask if they have questions to call(you don't need to answer...)

Then go to your OPS manager, and say: (of course only do this if you genuinely feel the CRR is falsifying)

"I think CRR is really struggling on SAT, I've offered my maps and cell number, but CRR is still bringing back lots of DEX packages, I'm concerned for our stations 'service levels' "

^this makes you look "concerned" for the right reasons, not just because you loathe the extra work on Mondays.

Best of luck..

And of course if this doesn't work, and this CRR uses your vehicle on SAT, make sure to leave the tank empty-ish out of spite on Fridays...

My former subcontractors... but, my current one is actually a decent manager of things. Even though my neighboring driver is a millennial that uses DEX 007s and 012s, he knows I'll back him up in exchange for staying on the road longer.

For the most part, he does a good job, but if he keeps getting customer complaints, he won't get his performance bonus & the manager gets to keep it (& sometimes split it with me!)

If the courier is a 'brown noser', there won't be much you can do outside of going over the managers head. You will need hard proof the courier is falsifying. Remind him/her that powerpads have GPS and they can look up if he/she actually went there.

I don't know if this is possible but, if you see some of the customers who's packages are being coded, I'd bring up the fact that the package was due on Saturday and inform them to call FedEx and inquire about a refund for a service failure.

One call should be enough for management to jump into action.

Personally, I'd let the offending courier know one time to knock it off. After that, if it continues, they did it to themselves.

I get the feeling management already knows about this and is looking the other way.

Right?

Exactly, I always say something like "so sorry we missed you on SAT..." leaves them an opening to say "yeah we waited all day..."
